Boardwalk Empire

I hope it doesn't end. At least move on to another city if it does end. Too many characters and directions that hbo could go to leave this fan base hanging like that. Maybe just being selfish, but it is so well done.

I think it could get wrapped up neatly in the span of a season. The storyline has to be nearing the end of prohibition at this point.

Laaaaaame.

That garbage known as True Blood gets 7 seasons and one of the best shows of the decade only gets 5.

BE is indeed great, I can understand wanting to go out on top but it seemed like they had 2-3 more seasons of historical material to work with.

I feel like it lost steam last season. If they are running out of ideas, better to end it now. As much as I hate to see my favorite shows end, it's better than hanging on too long and ruining it. Really wish they hadn't killed Rosetti in season 3.

They tried to rehash a new character after killing off rosetti with narcisse. Sucks they did that. Don't care very much for narcisse and what's her face trying to get her grandson the whole season. I enjoyed it because I like the show, but this last season was no where near the previous seasons. Seems like there was serious buildup early on for van alden to be a major player and it was almost like he was seen very little this last season. Idk, again probably me being selfish, but there were and still are many roads they could go down. My point is it doesn't have to completely revolve around nucky's world at this point to have a quality storyline like earlier on. Sorry if tl;dr sort of thinking out loud.

HBO kills off shows like Deadwood, Rome, and Boardwalk Off too early, and let's True Blood run forever. At this point, I'm wondering how long they'll remain committed to GoT.

He'll wrap things up well, I'm sure. Best to go out on top as opposed getting stale. Plus the cast of characters are at the point where they start becoming big time players, I don't think they'd be able to keep current on all of them.

Nucky retires, Eli dies, Van Alden gets in with Elliot Ness.

Don't even speak the possibility of canceling GoT into existence.

Ratings vs. production costs. Rome in particular was insanely expensive to make. GoT is as well, but I'd be surprised if it doesn't wind up being the most watched HBO show of all time.

There's some "insider" who is supposedly on the B'walk staff who is always spoiling endings and talking about actors and actresses on the sets. I guess he's been right a lot and he's saying there's only one more season left and it's all over the internet now. Who knows. Could just be a troll.

Wow a VN post that was credible. Looks like he was right.

I am excited to see how this ends. I hope Chalky survives.

They are cutting this show, one of the best on HBO, so the writer can start on some sure-to-flop Rock n' Roll show produced my Mick Jagger.

The days of "sex, drugs, and rock n roll" are long gone. Stories of those days have been told way too many times. No one cares. I don't mind B'walk coming to an end if it's time, but to end it for some uninteresting crap 70's music-themed show like the one the writer is starting on is ignorance. Very disappointed in HBO for this.

Anyways final season premier Sept. 7th at 9 PM. Only 8 episodes long. Better hurry up and get it over with, don't want to waste any time getting started on a 70's rock show that's going to suck.

That sounds kinda cool to me.

I can already predict it. There will be a record label, some talented singer, a lot of money, a lot of women, his record label will end up being sleezy, he will drop his label, he will party too hard, get into drugs, his music career will dive, he'll try to get sober, blah blah.

Same as every story that is told about 70's rock.

Yeah, but you could do the same thing for Boardwalk Empire.

Mob King out on a limb. The people closest to him turn on him. Violence and bribery.

The beauty of a show is in the details, not the big picture, IMO.

Abysmal as I think this is the topnotch crime drama that makes me think of The Wire if it is a multiple perspective or point of view tv show.

Plus as a sucker for mobsters in comic books, tv shows, movies, books, etc this is a magnificent tv show.

At least this aired for more than two seasons there are multiple tv shows I've seen that i get attached to or interested in but are get canceled before the first or second season ends, or after one or two seasons.
Networks have a premature belief if it's not a home run or a Powerhouse in the first or second season it's a bust, stinker, or a anemic failure.
Friends wasn't a powerhouse in the first two damn seasons, 24 barely stayed Alive before it became magnificent.
24 basically was a tv version of the 2007 and 2011 New York Giants.

I love this show and sucks that it is ending. The one bright side is they are not going to drag it on like True Blood. That show should have ended 3 seasons ago.
