Bob Kesling Retiring

I was reading 247's column on the retirement of Kesling and they listed the Mississippi State and Central Florida PxP announcers as possible options.

We need someone that can paint a picture of the action on the field - a la John Ward - and not just someone who screams "touchdown Tennessee."

I like Tom Hart a lot but he's climbed the ladder to ESPN/SECN and I'm sure he's set.

Wilkerson seems to be a likely choice. Kevin Simon has that silky smooth radio voice but it's unknown if he could handle multiple sports.

And if it is JW...DO NOT take him off baseball!

John Wilkerson is A GREAT baseball broadcaster, but that sport is his first love and many of his sayings are baseball centric—we need more for football and basketball.

Mike Keith, whatever it takes. I'm sure it has been mentioned but wasn't the last time our play by play guy retired (Mr Ward), a National Championship season in football? Maybe Bob has one more gift for us.

Never understood the hatred for Bob. He is one of he nicest guys and truly loves the Vols. Did he call games with the flare of Ward? No. But very few people in history could. The man is as gracious as they come and with all things being equal……he gave his all for the Vols each and every day for many many years.

Happy Retirement.
