So? You can't suck as a coach and be in the SEC? His nonconference record is almost as bad as his SEC record.

Look - Tedford has already turned the corner in the weaker conference that you call the Pac-10.. Rich Brooks is JUST NOW turning that corner at Kentucky so you can't really bring records into this yet.

When you lose your nonconference games against the dregs of div 1a you can't claim the SEC is what is weighing you down.

Jeff Tedford should drop to his knees every night and thank God for Kirk Ferentz. The Head Hawkeye is the only man standing between Tedford and the title of Most Overrated College Football Coach Of The Last Decade.

Iowa=Cal east. I'm not sure where Iowa gets false expectations from.

The goal of every PAC 10 coach is to reach the Rose Bowl. Brooks led Oregon there. Call me when Tedford does the same for Cal.

Rich Brooks record at Oregon 91–109–4 (.455%)
Jeff Tedford record at Cal 43-20 (.71%)

My bad, Brooks is a much better coach.

The pac-10 was horrible in the 90s. He led them to all of 4 bowl games in 18 seasons. Tedford did that in 6.

Wait - so you're saying the Pac-10 is a good conference now?

:eek:hmy:

There is zero question the early 90s were the worst the pac-10 has been in 30 years. Shockingly this was also the same time brooks took oregon to the rose bowl.

I love to watch fans of meaningless programs spend their time puffing their coaches. There should be a board where Cal, Iowa, and Va. Tech fans can meet and take turns slurping their respective overrated coaches.

I think that board is called volnation.

Do they teach a class in this at Berkeley? Something like How To Defend An Overhyped, Overpaid Holiday Bowl Level Coach 101?

Yeah - I'm pretty sure we don't praise Fulmer and try to impress other fans by talking about him. But the fact is he has been to BSC games - he has a N.C. and SEC titles. Something Tedford never will have.

Fulmer may be overrated, but at least his program isn't such trash that beating Texas A&M is a standout moment. Cal fans talking smack to UT fans is like France talking trash to Germany.

At least Virginia Tech and Iowa have conference titles with their current coaches.

Any person that feels rich brooks is a good coach is riding on the short bus compared to Teddy.

It's not hard to take your team to a bowl game when half of your games are against the dregs of div-1a. The only decent victory of the season was against a down georgia team.
