Boo Carter "Having conversations about his future" [He’s staying]

Boo is electric with the ball in his hands. I can not believe CJH would take a chance on losing him with all the issues we now have on offense. SMDH

He's going to be our Travis Hunter, or at least wants to be. I wish Christian Harrison wouldn't have left, as it would make playing him on offense a little easier.
Travis Hunter was the #1 overall recruit in America. Boo is very talented but not on that level. Please don’t put that kind of expectation on him if he does go both ways next year, folks.

I’ve been saying all season we need him in the wildcat at least 4 to 5 times per game. He doesn’t have to learn the whole offense. Simply let him use his god given talent.
Take the ball out of Sampsons hands? Best statistic back we’ve had. Then you’re looking maybe for other backs this year with limited carries already.

Majority of this board was screaming loudly for Harrison Bailey over Hooker after the 2021 Spring game. That’s why.

I wish he’d concentrate on catching punts.
I wish he'd do whatever the coaches asked him to do and do it to the best of his ability.

*I don't know that he's not, I'm just speculating like everybody else with the coaches getting the benefit of the doubt.

No doubt he could help us on offense. That is my biggest problem with the offense play calling is we didn’t try anything different. We could incorporate some end arounds with Boo and Squirrel put folks in motion more. How about the simple quick pitch to the tailback hit the out side hard. Run a wheel route with our backs out of back field. Boo is too talented not to get the ball in his hands some. I wish we would go under center at least some and show some power I formation. But whatever we have to be able to move people at the LOS. GBO

By the way, y’all who wanted Mike Matthews getting more run are now going to have to explain to him why he’s now competing against a DB for snaps next year.
Matthews will be in the lineup no matter if Boo is here or not. But Matthews is going to have to step up and make plays.

Since Covid, my interest in sports has died dramatically. I’ve been focused on bettering my real life and avoiding distractions and time lost to what could really be called an addiction. I would watch 162 Braves games, every football game, and maybe even an NBA game.

Now I could care less honestly. The NIL era is quickly ruining the only sport I had interest left in. Growing up I wasn’t a Lakers fan because I lived in LA. I loved Kobe and Shaq. My fascination with their game, grew into a love for the Lakers. Pretending to be chipper and Gary Sheffield grew my love for the sport of baseball and the Braves. EB14 and his heroics grew my love for Tennessee (grew up watching the Vols because my dad did, I’m in bammer territory). I began to really dive deep into the program and follow the Vols 365, instead of just when they played.

NIL and the Transfer portal is draining my interest in the sport. When you can’t even have a favorite player or invest time in following a kid through their career when they join the team, what’s the point? This has to be corrected or I guess I’ll just never turn on my tv again lol 😕

What makes you think he automatically becomes an average DB if he plays wide receiver? Didn’t seem to bother the aforementioned Champ Bailey. Nor did it affect Charles Woodson or Travis Hunter.
You are comparing him to two HOFers and a third guy who will probably become one if he stays healthy.

Harrison played pretty well, but yeah it's more so in case Boo needs a rest from playing on offense or nicked upped. We should have one of the younger guys like Farooq or John Slaughter able to play that position.
Those were the last “meaningful” snaps Bailey has taken in 3 yrs, under two other head coaches.

We had the defensive end demanding $45,000 a month and that he be guaranteed to play every third down.

College football is done.
College football isn't done. College football is more popular than ever. Viewership up 58 percent this season and they are making bank. We will gripe and moan, but we also will still show up and watch, so nothing is going to change. College football isn't done, college football as we knew it is done

Two are Heisman winners, two are in the NFL HOF…the other will be a top pick in the NFL draft. Travis Hunter missed last season for a laceration to his liver playing offense. Thats a two player injury. Boo hasn’t shown he’s in the same conversation as those 3. Solid player but those 3 are 1% players.

Boo not playing offense is not in the top 100 reasons for the loss in Columbus
Where did I say it was? I would say there are a multitude of reasons for the loss in Columbus, and not one player was the difference. But we have to get playmakers on the offensive side of the ball, or are you good with what we had this year?

I recognize punt return is not the same as going against regular defense.
When Boo got the ball, at any moment we thought he could break one to the house. Who else on this team did that? DSamp? Kid has quickness and the ability to make people miss. It's worth seeing if that translates to offense. You keep an defensive All SEC caliber player on your team and you could potentially have a difference maker on offense in the same person.
This doesn't seem that hard.
One of the best kick returners ever here never panned out anywhere else on the field Evan Berry. You are right it's a different gift. Not trying to downplay Boos talent but East Tennessee high school football is not elite IMO. Boo may be elite, but he was going against teams that are not on same level as some of the Georgia HS around Atlanta metro and Texas HS. Just don't know how it translates, I guess we will either see or he will take his talent to Colorado and let Deion mode him.
