Border Wall Thread (Merged)

It's not that it's hard to understand, it's that it's false. Importers directly and indirectly pay the tariff tax. Exporters indirectly carry burden of tariff tax.

The idea that citizens will pay for the wall via tariff is false news created by the news media. The proposed tariff would make these goods non-competitive and they would be replaced with cheaper imports from other countries. The tariff will not pay for the wall its simply a threat that Mexico must counter.

So how does waging a trade war get mexico to pay for our wall?

It will be five times the estimated cost and take three times as long. It would be cheaper just to put some towers and more agents there.

There can't be a war because Mexico has no position. A war would indicate we stop buying from them and they stop buying from us. We don't need anything they have to offer because we have alternative sources. The NAFTA deal was designed to use American raw materials and Mexican labor not to be cheaper but to retain jobs in the US and receive back competitive goods. In other words goods from Mexico are not that cheap. There will not be a war and just the threat of a tariff forces their hand to adjust in some manner.

If Mexico is "not that cheap" then why are businesses buying from them. This doesn't make any sense.

I don't care how much the Border Wall cost, or who pays for it. Build the wall and secure the damn Border.

All of the Cultural Marxists who want the American people to be ruled by Muslims and Central Americans can go to hell.

Yeah. One of us is a sheep who gorges on everything fed to you by faulty hands and the other sips whisky and wiggles his dick at the general state of things.

You describe yourself as a "whisky sipper that wigglles his dick"

We are finally in agreement, we are nothing alike.

I drink, I don't sip. And my dick is for vagina, not the "General state of things."

But keep up the good fight Dinkle.
