Border Wall Thread (Merged)

Then there's many in these countries joining with Hungarians in favor of stopping the migrants.

..."Macedonia began putting up a first fence in November, and is now constructing a second, parallel, fence."...

..."After the meeting, Orban said his country is ready to help "those countries that are ready to create a second defensive line south of Hungary."
He also said Hungary fully supports Bulgarian membership in the Schengen zone because "it is capable of fully protecting its borders" and called for opening "sensible talks" on Macedonia's EU membership.
The Hungarian leader said: "If it were up only to us Central Europeans, that region would have been closed off long ago.
"Not for the first time in history we see that Europe is defenceless from the south that is where we must ensure the safety of the continent."...

Border fences with technology and with walls where needed work.

Make it be. If Trump won't, we have to elect those who will.

Good idea. We would need only a small fence. While in Germany I saw the fence dividing east and west. They had a fence with land mines. Worked pretty good for them.

Yeah, lets do what the Soviet Union and it's puppets in East Germany did.

Do you really think that if there was a flood of Muslim terrorists coming through we wouldn't be hearing those numbers from this administration every 20 seconds? Get real

Are you telling me it doesn't happen?

Why not set something up to make sure that doesn't happen instead of just sitting there and saying it probably doesn't happen.

The Trump administration is threatening to halt some travel from four countries refusing to cooperate with the Department of Homeland Security on deportations.

DHS officials confirmed to Fox News that letters have been sent to the State Department seeking the suspension of visas for some of those countries' citizens.

A State Department official explained to Fox News that "when we receive such notification, the Department of State works to implement a visa suspension as expeditiously as possible in the manner the secretary determines most appropriate under the circumstances to achieve the desired goal."

If Mexico is going to pay for the wall why is Trump threatening to shut down the government unless WE pay for it?

...and per the leaked transcript of Trump's conversation with Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto from January 28th, Trump openly admits that building the wall is only a matter of political importance because it's what he campaigned on for over a year. He basically acknowledged that he knew Mexico wouldn't pay for it and asked (actually begged) Nieto not to publicly say that Mexico wouldn't be paying for the wall.

Just because it hasnt happened, doesnt mean it wont. The fact is nobody can say with any certainty what a border wall will do.

It may very well severley decrease the criminal presence from Mexico and other countries. Then again, it may not. All we can do is wait and see.

So you're willing to gamble $22,000,000,000 of tax payers money on a "then again, it may not"?

If this is fiscal conservatism.... LOFL

The House Homeland Security Committee passed legislation Wednesday that would provide $10 billion toward President Trump's wall on the U.S.-Mexico border, a step toward possible consideration on the House floor.

The committee vote is a significant step toward implementing President Trump's goal of building a border wall, which otherwise has been stalled. Trump himself agreed to delay money for the wall last month in order to quickly resolve a fight over raising the debt ceiling and extending federal spending for the first few months of the new fiscal year.

Border wall: Trump seeks $18 billion for border wall with Mexico

over the next 10 years to build or extend the nearly 700-mile barrier that became a signature 2016 presidential campaign pledge.

The money would pay for 316 miles of new fencing and reinforce another 407 miles where barriers are already in place, according to cost estimates sent to senators Friday by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

That is all $18 billion gets you.

That much money would pay for Michelle to take her mother and staff of 50 to Africa for a month.

It will pay for itself in a few months.

At least its a start. Better than what the last 3 idiots in office have done. Please dont act like 18 billion is a lot of money.

One of the main campaign promises was a wall. Elections have consequences, there will be a wall. Mexico will pay for it as soon as the NAFTA agreement is renegotiated. They are stealing more than 20 billion each year. This will be easy to do and the only choice they have is to pay or close factories in Mexico. If they try to raise prices they will lose the markets to Asia and we win again.
