Bowers Having Surgery

There are some surgeries that are simply not required for an injury to heal. A broken ankle is not one of them. A sprained ankle, not so much. Really didn’t think I had to spell this out.
The sprain that he and Tillman had would not have healed properly. It’s a syndesmosis injury. The procedure they got speeds up the process by stabilizing the fibula so that it heals properly in a shortened amount of time.

I always find it strange that fans celebrate when a teams player goes down. I personally want a team at its best. It's kinda like when Vanderbilt beat UT a few years and bring it up like an accomplishment. It's like yeah you did, but you didn't beat a good UT team. I hope he recovers and plays in the UT game.

It’s about getting back faster and making the ankle more stable with mechanical fixation to supplement the site while it heals biologically. There is some science built into these treatments.
I never missed a rugby match with the same injury more than once. A good tape job provides the stability needed. If someone wants to have the surgery more power to them. Sorry, but the medical community’s “science”credibility took a big hit over their response to Covid.

Relating an orthopedic device to a Covid treatment. Good call.

Did you get an X-ray. You know those things can cause radiation poison.

I'm glad you didn't miss any matches. What that has to do with Brock Bowers, I don't know. Let's try to stay on topic.

We are talking Brock Bowers. THe Superman of college football. He'll be back in 3 days.

I apologize Jxn Vol. I let the rugby player in me get out…disproportionate retaliation. I am also sure you are very good at what you do in the medical profession.

I hope Brock is back to full strength when we play them. I want to beat them with their best players on the field.

Yeah, Bru is a dude, but Bowers is a dang freak of nature.
I agree, and though I’m a GA fan I don’t at all mean this in an arrogant or a$$holish way. I’ve watched every collegiate play Bowers has made, and like you say, he is just a freak of nature!

Honestly, his first two seasons he made many plays where I found myself in awe thinking, how in the hell did that just happen? But honestly, the most surprised I’ve been to date is when he dropped a sure TD in the KY game a few weeks ago. Not upset, just surprised, bc that never happens 😂🤣😂.

All that aside, I sincerely realize that it sucks to see a rival team have such a ridiculous player, I’ve been a UGA fan for 40 years so I’m familiar with the feeling! But on a positive note, we will all be able to enjoy watching this guy excel in the NFL hopefully, and who knows, he might be a Titan this time next year? No matter where he goes I’ll look forward to watching him play.

Yeah I’ll be glad when he’s out of that ugly-a**, ketchup-red uniform and I can just appreciate him as a player (I kid, I kid. But not really.)

I know some do, but personally I don’t give a rip about the Titans. If he ends up catching passes from Hendon Hooker, Josh Dobbs, or another future UT alum in the League, that would be cool.

Lol, I can certainly appreciate your feelings on this. I tried very hard to not like Peyton Manning when he was at TN. I must admit that he later became one of my favorite players of all time.

Sad. Same injury as our leading receiver coming into last season Tillman, who missed a lot of the season and was not 100% late last year when he returned.

And now Bru, the guy we look to in a clutch situation and our best blocker on the outside, is out (but with a different injury) this year.

Bowers should prolly focus on getting well and rehabbing with the draft in mind. He is really a great player.

want to be really careful with what I’m about to say because it’s way, way too early to know how soon Brock Bowers will be back and where he is in his recovery. With that said, I’ve spoken with more than one trusted source who says that the star tight end is already pushing in his recovery.

This should come as a surprise to no one because the guy is just built different, but when it comes to the treatment and stuff they have him doing right now, he is getting after it. Based on everything I’ve heard about this guy over the past few years, there’s no doubt in my mind that Ron Courson and his staff are going to have moments where they have to gear this dude down.

I have a few friends that actually think UGA will just fall off the map without Bowers. Lol. Does anyone really think they will miss a beat? I know I don’t. They still go undefeated and win the SEC easily.

No team is good enough to lose a player of that caliber and just not miss a beat. They will adapt for sure. Delp and Luckie can combine to try to replicate Bowers, but my guess is that the transfer WRs have a big time coming out party while Bowers is out.

When you recruit like UGA has you absolutely can lose a player like Bowers.
