I think their other TE Darnell Washington is a better blocker than Bowers. BB has good hands and better than average speed for a TE but he’s a year or 2 away from even close to the accolades the OP gave him.IMO

I'll bet that the guys on our D side of the ball have some plans for Mr. Bowers, LOL!

I have a feeling that he and Mr. Smart aren't going to like our plans for them either.

I can't wait to see Mr. Smart throwing a hissy fit on the sidelines and the UGa people crying when the game is over and they know that they won't even make it to the SEC Championship game, LMAO!

UGA may even back into those dumb hedges and drop a load because all his UGa friends are so upset.

Lord, I want to beat UGa so bad I could scream, please allow that to happen because the guys on our beloved Tennessee footVOL Team have worked so hard and they deserve it...Amen.

Hehe, it is etched into my memory. My best friend at the time, a budding guitar player, laughed when we first saw him do it. I asked why. He said, "Farner just played an E chord and held it up like he did something great!"

And that was our favorite band at the time (we would discover the Eagles and then Rush within a year or so).

I've associated hubris in mediocrity with Farner ever since. :)

He is pretty dang good. TEs don't always put up the numbers in college, but they are a force.
Witten's college numbers as a comparison.

Every Georgia fan ive talked to about this game tried to discredit Bama's defense to give themselves some confidence. I had one dude telling me how trash Will Anderson was 😂

I seriously don’t get the love fest.

He has a bunch of receptions……that’s all. Someone has to catch passes.

3 receiving TD’s
3 rushing TD’d ( Fant has more)
14.8 yards per reception

He’s good, he’s not doing anything special.

He is a great player, and I would put him in the top 5-10 players in the country overall.

It is ridiculous, however, to place a threshold of some arbitrary amount of yardage that a TE must be held below in order for Tennessee to win the game.

I’d take Darnell Washington over bowers if I was building a team. But I do agree, Bennett prefers bowers and the dude can ball. We normally run Jeremy banks on the tight ends and I don’t think he can run with either of their ends. It will be interesting to see what we will be schematically.
