Bowling Green interested in Bajakian

So a school that won its conference championship wants to hire our OC as their head coach and some of our fans think this is a good thing for us?

I'd be excited for Coach Jake to get a head coaching job and the accompanying raise, but that would in no way be a positive for Tennessee.
Some of our fans are idiots. They expect immediate results with a depleted team. It would suck to lose any of our coaches this soon BUT the only positive I see is it is CBJ's offensive system, so would this effect philosophy that much?

So, should we give him a raise to stay?

Depends on how big of a raise BG is offering for the head gig.

Dave Clawson only made $375k at Bowling Green to be head coach. Bajakian currently makes $475k here.

I'd be willing to bet that salary isn't going to be a factor. If BG offers, it will come down to whether Bajakian feels like BG is a good opportunity to take his first D1 head coaching job.

This is a good test to gauge the loyalty of Bajakian.

I would probably disagree with that....Most, not all, assistant coaches, especially OC's and DC's, are in the business to be a head coach someday....and if he feels Bowling Green gives him that opportunity, and they havent offered as far as we know, then he certainly should take it. I too hope he stays with us a few years until stability can be returned...but I completely understand a Div 1 major college OC taking a head coaches position when offered....

Do we know what BG is currently paying their head coach? I would imagine 900k to 1 mill

Well depends how he looks at it. Is he trying to jump to a HC job as soon as possible? Or is he actually committed to trying to get UT back to where it belongs? I like to think it would be possible for him to be loyal to UT, to Butch, to the kids until he actually accomplishes something here. 5-7 isn't really much to hang your hat on in my opinion.

Bring Jim Bob Cooter home. He has been in the NFL 5 years now as a coach.

Great guy with great experience, is a homeboy an most important of all...

Jim Bob Cooter is one of the coolest names for a football player I have ever seen., ranks up there with Bronko Nagurski :good!: & Too Tall Jones :loco:

As I said in the post you quoted, Bowling Green paid Clawson $375,000 to be their head coach last year, which is $100,000 less than Bajakian makes here.

I'd rather see Thig get a raise and make sure he don't leave than give Bajakian a raise. Thig is more important to BJ than Bajakian is. I don't think these kids on the offense side of the ball are going to decommit because of Bajakian. Just don't see it. Was this not BJ offense to begin with ?
