Alright guys lets judge Bruce's run by a few games. Btw Bruce never lost to Belmont. I dont have to go over BP's accomplishments because that would take too much time.

Theres nothing wrong with getting mid-major level coaches who are proven winners. Like Bruce for example. Led UW-Milwaukee to the sweet sixteen. This new guy hasnt proven jack ****. Dont give me that bull**** "He went from 11 wins to 25" Point is hes never guided a team to the big dance. UT isnt the job to see if you can turn a program around and its not the program you earn your coaching stripes at.

I still say Hammy should be fired. Not because of this hire, or at least not only because of this hire, but because he has yet to prove himself at being able to handle the ATHLETIC side of the athletic dept. Martin is not a proven commodity. He may succeed, he may not. Don't get me wrong, I like the stats I've seen, but he's not proven at this level. I like Dooley, but he's still not a proven commodity. He doesn't have a winning record yet and who can be 100% certain he will work out. I don't really follow UT baseball, but I see many on here criticizing Raleigh. Hamilton has yet to hit a homerun with any of his hires.

Maybe I expect too much, but I think the UT AD should be held to a high standard and the current state of UT athletics does not sit well with me. Football is rebuilding after falling apart under the watch of Mike Hamilton. Basketball will now have to rebuild after the actions of Bruce Pearl, but, again, it happenned under Hamilton's watch. The common denominator is Mike Hamilton. It's time for him to go.

Even his PR skills are poorly lacking. He made a mess of the Fulmer ouster. He looked like a complete idiot after the Kiffin debacle. He submarined the basketball program two days before the tournament and drew criticism from every sports commentator I heard. He has not brought a good spotlight to UT. He has continuously left us looking bad to the rest of the nation. ESPN may or may not hate us, but if they do, Hamilton has provided them with lots of ammunition to use over the years.

I just believe Hamilton has left us with egg on our face too many times. I have no faith in him. IMO, he is not the man to be running our athletic department. I hope Cheek, or the BoT, or Haslam will come to the same conclusion and end this.

Great post imo. I echo those thoughts almost exactly. Especially the PR issues.

The more I think about it the more I'm glad we hired the guy. He is as proven as the Basketball program is, as in not very. Sure there were good runs but nothing sustained. He may take us, and himself, to a new level. Let's hope for that. By the way, that killer class UK brought in with Walls and company didn't make it to the final 4 this years squad did. Basketball is weird like that. GBO

I read 120 comments. 12 of them were positive, and four of the positives were from the same person. Who was Stephens (Butler) two years ago? I want to say Jamie Dixson was a similar heir at Pitt. What bout our hommie Bruce - who was he? I am quite sure he got the same flame job form the same folks that are roasting this heir. The tones are what shock me. Why does everyone want blood? Waters under the bridge guys - GET OVER IT!!! What is interesting in particular is that the majority of the negative comments came from posters with at least 1000 posts - people who obviously devote a good portion of time to UT sports. A bunch of Small Mikes, but the majority of u are not close to him intellectually - and King Jim aint no Einstein. Seems to me at the very least you might choose to spend some of the time you give pursuing your "love" for the vols
doing some research bout the heir. I would say I am fairly well versed in the sport and from what I read bout him I was more than impressed! Dude is a rock - He will be successful here soon. Book it!!! All the negative sheep need to move on. Negativity is not a healthy place to spend an inordinate amount of time. Focus on what is right about it, not what is wrong. Another thought for some of you is this - When you feel verbal nausea coming on (symptoms appear to be inability to access higher brain function and associated logic, sheepish behavior, obsessive negativity, and frequent verbal diarrhea)
stop and wait until you can remove emotion and the rash choices it most often imbues
, still waiting, deep breathe, some of you should probably sleep on it, and then maybe give us your opinion. If you can not implement those simple directions then shut the hell up until u can.

He better be able to coach because his record is not going to have this nation's top recruits beating down his door to get in.

it's funny, i made a youtube video pretty much asking the same question......( WHO?) and ofcourse i get called an " uneducated, redneck"....LMAO....i would bet my " trailer and rebel flag" ( since im supposedly a redneck) that 99% of ALL volnation had never heard of the guy either...GO VOLS, I'LL SUPPORT Cuonzo as long as he don't Lie ( and then try to cover it up)

and to think that I didn't pay too much attention to ncaa basketball this season. next season is going to be like whoa.

for some odd reason i thought that mike hamilton was going to pull something great with this opportunity...

Welcome to VolNation, CCM. As you can see from this thread, if your name isn't associated with being in the Final Four every year, most here are gonna b**** and down you before you even get here. I say Good Luck, hit the recruiting trail hard, save the ones we have committed, talk a couple into coming back, and prove em all wrong.

Sorry if this question was asked in the previous 10 pages. Do we have any idea if he will have the same philosophy as Pearl in terms of scheduling the best teams OOC every season?

He is the new UT BB coach so he has my support. I am just not impressed and feel like we settled AGAIN! One bright spot, now this is done they can throw Hammy out on his ear.
