I think it probably got it right matching the two best teams.

I think it failed miserably in determining the best team in the nation after the game.

For all we know ok st is the 2ndveer best team in the country. They should get their opportunity since bama pissed theirs away in their own house.

Good grief at the lack of nonsense in here. If this scenario was UT and Florida from 1995 or so and the third team was some nobody from the big 12, no one in here would be arguing for the nobody from the big 12.

If we went by worst loss as the criteria for determining who's deserving of playing for the national title, we would have eliminated 2006 Florida, 2007 LSU, and 2008 Florida before the bowl games.

And everyone here would have still been wrong. Just like Big 10 fans were very wrong in 2006.

Also hard to argue 5 wins vs ranked BCS vs 3..ok St got screwed. They won their conference and Ala couldn't even win their division

The whole system is screwed up... but i don't buy the logic of Bama couldn't win their own division. If this was TN sitting at 11-1 but that loss being to FL, we'd be advocating for our right to play in the title game.

If the Championship game was about pitting the best 2 teams from the conference together, then we'd seen AL - LSU play last night, with the winner going to the NC. But that's not the system we have.

I bet Michigan fans were using the same logic as Bama fans in 2006.

Both of those teams got destroyed in their bowl games. That argument is overplayed and pointless after seeing their bowl results. The BCS is not designed to be "fair"; its purpose is to deliver a matchup between the two best teams. I think they are doing just that.

Disagree. All teams should have the opportunity to play.

I would be happy UT got another chance, but I would at least understand there would be a * in the record books if UT won.

Bammers will go on saying they won their 27th national title, regardless.

That's the point. It's easy to make claims after the bowls. What if the Big 12 looks way better than the SEC during bowl season? It seems crazy to us now, but we can't really be sure.

Oh well, OSU saw the writing on the wall and proceeded to lose to a bottom feeder. They had their chance.

Bama had their chance too. Now they get a second chance, this one for all the marbles. LSU should not have to beat them twice.

Good point. It's a flawed system, but I think these are the two best teams in football right now.
