I never said they couldn't, but we will never know what OSU would have done. Still waiting on you to defend the BCS.

I do agree with this. No need for a NC game this year, LSU has already earned it over the past 3 months.

Bama's only chance once again had to get voted in instead of playing their way in. Ok State was ripped off on this one. If Oklahoma St was 13-0 and Oklahoma was 11-1 and they were ranked 1 & 2 and Bama was ranked #3, there's not a Bama sheep out there that would not be crying and slinging snot about getting left out of the BCS Title game.

They have this thing called "playoffs" where you have to earn a title shot. Your argument would just put the team with the best NFC record in the Super Bowl against them instead of the Giants. Or maybe just the second best AFC team...

So they'll replay a game that ended up being an over-hyped snooze-fest? How exciting. I expect the TV rating for LSU-Bama will be just a tad above Seinfeld re-runs on TBS.

The BCS formula got the two best teams matched up to play in the NCG. I don't know what more evidence is needed to validate that the system is a great success, given it's stated goal of pitting the nations top 2 teams against each other in the NC.

The BCS allows college football to have a regular season that is unrivaled in excitement and meaning in all of sports. I won't go so far as to say that "every game matters" but without a doubt, more games matter in CFB's regular season than in any sport. Consider the alternative of the NFL where you watch 3 months of glorified scrimmages, a handful of meaningful games in December and 4 weeks of playoffs. At the end of the day, NFL teams aren't rewarded for being good from September to January, all that matters is getting hot at the right time. In college football, it's very tough to win a championship and take a week off, and certainly taking 2 weeks off knocks you out of contention for good.

and #1 gets screwed. Basically bama gets rewarded for losing while LSU gets screwed for even playing bama. THe NC semi-finals were played in the GA dome yesterday and bama wasn't there
