Get mad at the rules. Call your congressman and have the laws changed. If not be quiet. Blaming the players when you know you would do the same at your job if another employer was willing to pay you is hypocritical.

Or we can get a guy out of the portal and show that we’re not re negotiating a deal that was just done two months ago because his teammate got hurt. Let Ricky go to Auburn and have fun playing in the Belk Bowl.

If our skills are easily replaceable then yes we would get shown the door. However, if you're the partner at the law firm bringing in most of the business and you want to negotiate a higher salary then your colleagues aren't gonna just show you the door because you're not easily replaceable. They'll most likely give in to your demands because of the value you bring in.

This will all come down to how good they think the potential replacements are. If they're confident in Kaleb Beasley he might get shown the door. But if he's clearly our best healthy corner and the younger guys aren't close to being ready to replace him then you have to give in to his demands and pay him cause his value can't be easily replaced.

He’s not wrong. The kids a punk. Just because what he’s doing is within the rules isn’t the same as not being a punk. There’s all manner of douchy free speech that’s technically lawful. Doesn’t mean we can’t boo the person that made the douchy comment. Also he’s NOT doing what anyone would do. Plenty of people wouldn’t take advantage of their teammates injury to get a bigger bag when the portal is closed. I know this because when he leaves someone else will move up the depth chart and I bet that person doesn’t take advantage of the situation.

Used to be you played for the T and you were loved and had a place to come home for the rest of your life. Now it's all about the money for these guys... They'll learn when they've blown every dollar and are left alone while we celebrate those who decided to be true VFLs. We'll remember

It would be very hard finding someone as talented in the portal at this point. Even if we did I'm willing to bet we'd have to pay more. Just pay the man and be done with it. Like it or not this is CFB these days. If we are going to compete for championships its gonna cost us

So if you had another company willing to pay you more than your current employer and you left for that better opportunity, does that make you a punk?

The fundamentals here are about money and using whatever leverage you have to make the most. To pretend like most people wouldn't do the same if they had the leverage is lying to yourself. You're just letting you Tennessee fandom get in the way of your common sense. You know good and well in any other context you wouldn't fault an employee for taking the most money.
