Change of approach. For everyone this bothers, exactly why does it bother you?

The only thing that bothers me is the dirty looks I get from staring. Hey, I'm a single guy and it's not often I get to see boobs not on the internet or without paying an entrance fee.

*for the sarcastically impaired, this is indeed a joke.

Whoever mentioned the generation gap earlier is completely right. When my first son was born in 1991 my ex-husband's grandmother is the one who told me when we went to visit her, "You don't have to go to the bedroom to feed him. If they (talking about my brother-in-laws and my father-in-law) don't wanna see it they can go to the porch". She was as old-fashioned as they come, too.

Breasts aren't shown in public as a general rule. It's how our society is (as compared to some European countries). We're taught modesty, cover yourself up. A movie that shows a woman's breasts is usually rated R. Breasts aren't normal viewing.

It isn't shocking to me to think some people are uncomfortable seeing a woman breastfeeding. I understand being uncomfortable. But it IS shocking to me that anyone finds it "nasty" or "offensive".

They should be. Oh yes, they should be...

:)

Don't understand why this subject is so taboo. As a father of 3 all of them are way past this stage I don't get why something that is natural is such a dividing subject. It is a great teaching tool for young ones and also an opportunity for the parents to bond with their children while teaching them about something important instead of letting them learn from TV..

Taking a dump is even more natural than breastfeeding. Wanna watch me?

Public breast feeding? Pales in comparison to what is shown and said on prime time TV. The practice looks and is very natural. :twocents:

Waste elimination's an inVOLuntary bodily function(most of the time) and is 360' from the thread topic. Watching someone taking a sh!t (who would want to do that) and breast feeding are totally two different things. :twocents:

You must not know any elderly people

My opinion...

There's a time and place for everything, and private is where this belongs. There are many arguments on here that one can turn their head and not look, but once I see it, I can't unsee it..lol. I don't want to see it.

Do you not like seeing adults eat either?
