Brown or Mompremiere

I think Holly is doing a great job recruiting. Dawn had a great class last year, but who did they sign for the 2015 class? The media hype surrounding South Carolina is ridiculous! Can someone please tell me what they've accomplished that Tennessee hasn't? Some of these comments are just crazy! Everybody knew from Day 1 that Kalani Brown was most likely going to Baylor. At least Tennessee was in her Final 3. Hopefully Beatrice choose to be a Lady Vol next week. If not, you have to move on to the 2016 class. You can't force a recruit to sign with your school.

Absolutely correct vol720.

It seems many on here have been hooked by "The Media" and have no brain of their own.

Dawn Staley is a good coach, but by no means a world beater. She had White and Wilson fall into her lap because they were SC kids. And no, South Carolina most certainly has not passed Tennessee.

I think Staley is really overrated as a coach. She's never made it past the Sweet 16. Not that she isn't good, but she's not worthy of being talked about as one of the best in the nation until she has more postseason success.

SC is getting all the hype because the media LOVES hyping a team that might compete or surpass TN. The past few years it was Mitchell and KY. That didn't pan out and now it's SC and Staley.

If Mompremier doesn't sign with us Holly needs to work the Juco or transfer ranks for a post player. I like who we have coming back but we do need a player for depth injuries happen need a big player 6'3" or better that can play and guard the rim.

Well rumors are Mompremiere will choose between Tennessee and Ohio State. I saw where her coach said Tennessee was under strong consideration. Whatever that means. Maybe she was waiting to see where Brown goes.

I hope this is the case. I've always preferred her over Brown because I think she will pair better with Russell and she runs the floor well for a girl her size. If Beatrice doesn't sign Holly should seriously consider a juco post. Is there any website that ranks/follows the top juco talent around the country?

It means she ain't coming here. It also means Holly failed to address the team's biggest need by far with this recruiting class. But it isn't her fault, at least she tried....

I'm not sure who is more worthless, you or armchair. Nobody with an ounce of intelligence respects your piece of s*** posts. Please do everyone a favor and shut the hell up already. Everyone sees you for the message board troll that you are. Give it up, little man.

Ok if she goes elsewhere so be it. There were not that many post in the 2015 class. Tennessee is/was in the running for 2 of the elite post in the 2015 class. Everybody knew from day 1 that Brown was most likely going to be a Baylor Bear with the family ties. We got in late with Mompremier and can only hope she choose to wear orange Wednesday. Holly and staff have done an excellent job on the recruiting trail. Plus there are a lot of things that goes on behind the scenes in recruiting that we as fans have no idea the lows some people/coaches will stoop to to to try and steer a recruit to a particular. There are a lot of schools and fanbases that hate Tennessee and will do anything to steer a recruit elsewhere that is strongly considering Tennessee. You will be suprised. I applaud this staff for not playing dirty.

Do tell. Baylor is a all in all good classy program IMO. Very old school like ours. L'ville is the program that's recruiting more similarly to a men's program and still haven't seen anything wrong w/ what they do.

Recruiting has changed. Pat couldn't/wouldn't change with it (Momma's purses!) and Holly is a Pat disciple so no one should expect any different.

The Lady Vols don't have the school cachet of ND or Stanford and are never going to "go the extra mile" and play in the gray areas like Geno and Saban (and Mulkey) are willing to do until they get a new coach not in the Pat tree. And that's not likely to happen for a long long time.

So get used to (relative) mediocrity, it's easier than holding on to the past.

At least back your thought up w/ some logic even if it's ulta negative logic.

Ignore is a wonderful thing. I put ivy on it weeks ago when it was apparent she had nothing to contribute but personal insults (which I see hasn't changed). I would suggest you both do likewise, I promise it won't hurt my feelings...:good!:

Obviously little man is scared of someone who calls him out for the obnoxious prick he is. *shrug*

And I know how ignore works. I've been around the block on internet forums for some time now (not merely Vol related). The thing is, you can almost guarantee that those who claim to place other posters on ignore actually never really do. It's human nature to want to know how others are responding, especially when the remarks are directed at them. I don't think your willpower is that strong.

The fact is, you persistently insult Holly Warlick on here. Your disdain is wholly unwarranted, and yet you continue to do so. At least you deserve to be called out. Don't think you are so special that you can insult others without getting back what you give. The world doesn't work that way, pumpkin.

I hope she is the real deal. I think she is the real deal. The SEC really needs her to be the real deal.

I was suggesting that you explain why you concluded the Brown news was bad for Mompremier coming to UT. The way I see it, OSU got the 6'6" center out of NJ in this class so that will crowd her position at OSU, which would be good for UT.

I don't think losing Brown hurts with Mompremiere, but the degree people assume it helps is being overstated. She could go to OSU and compete against a 6'6" freshman project or go to UT and compete against Russell. I would hope she sees it your way, but obviously I'm not optimistic at this point....

Unless they have behaved in an unprofessional manner, bent the rules, or presented an air of disengagement when interacting with the recruit, the coaching staff cannot be blamed when a recruit chooses another school. I am more than certain that none of the above scenarios even remotely apply to Holly or any of her staff. The fact is, there are a myriad of reasons why a recruit chooses one school over another. Location. Prior relationships with another school's alumni, coaching staff, etc. (a la Brown's family and Mulkey). Academic programs that may be offered at one school and not another (or which may be better at one school than another). Friends who may attend the chosen school. Playing time (or perceived lack thereof). Perhaps the recruit simply clicked better with the players of one team than another. Perhaps the recruit is turned off by spoiled, entitled, negative "fans" who take every chance they can get to bash the program, the coaches, or the players when things don't go "their" way. There is little if anything a coach can do to control the above factors. A coach cannot force a recruit to sign. A coach can only be passionate about his or her program and the desire to have that recruit as part of the team (and I'm positive this coaching staff is very, very passionate about the Lady Vols program). The rest is in the hands (and heart and mind) of the recruit.

The fact is, Holly has done an excellent job recruiting, especially in light of the turmoil surrounding the program over the past few years. To blame her when every single top recruit doesn't choose Tennessee (especially in this age of relative parity among the top 10 to 15 programs) is blatantly asinine.
