Bru McCoy Injury

They are also part of a system that keeps humans enslaved to medicine, vaccines, and insurance premiums. But don’t think for a moment that I’m not thankful for medical professionals. I certainly am.
Vaccines are a damn miracle. They’re not enslaving anyone.

But yes, our for profit health care system does. And we’re too dumb to figure it out.

Yep, and he has another year of eligibility left so…
Is it a covid year that he has? Injury won't end his career, but he may not be the same for his final season, if he comes back. It's mental not physical and unfortunately, sometime the mental part is worse than the physical. It'll take quite a lot of game action to trust that ankle.

The fracture/distal dislocation is actually the best injury that he could have sustained (in comparison to long bone fx, ligament, complete knee, etc…). 🙏
He will be fine - serious injury but not at all to the level of ending his career like most of the hand wringers on here believed
I Fade I’m a tad disappointed with the flippancy of your statement. The injury appears to be severe enough that hoping for normal function as opposed to continuing his career in football may be best outcome.

You realize tho that its not one or the other? You can be in medicine to both help people and make tons of money.

There are very few who would incur the cost of a medical degree and then not want to make a really good living to make up for it.
The cost of a medical degree is what a lot of people don’t understand. The years and the student loans involved in it are substantial. If you’re just primary care are you even making that much. Specialities of course are making good to great money. Plenty of people can go to trade school and make good money without the substantial loans.

As several of us acknowledged, ankle. Guess I get to keep my screen name (and profession).
Yeah, I didn't really want to argue people, but I had pictures, and you could absolutely see his ankle was shot. Like I said, I didn't know if anything else was, but I knew the ankle was broken. Unfortunately the pictures are floating around Facebook, so I'd say many have seen them by now.

I had a Pilon Fracture of the ankle 10 years ago at age 65. Due to the nature of the break, there was some doubt I would walk normally again. Long story short, I have pins and a plate on my tibia, a silicone mesh shield where the tibia meets the talus. The inside calf muscle was 'released' which means I have no muscle there. There was considerable tendon damage, too. I recovered, but I lost the ability to wade moving waters to flyfish (my passion). I'm now 75 and the ankle still gives me fits and is becoming arthritic. I write this because if Bru had a Pilon fracture of the ankle, I hope he can recover. He needs our prayers and a good surgeon.

As physicians, we are always learning. And what I learned last night in this thread are two things. One, people that work in the emergency room as orderlies or checkout staff are not “medical professionals“ and should not be rendering opinions. Two: It’s shocking to me that we have individuals that are voicing their displeasure over insurance issues and their own ignorance about vaccines and projecting that onto physicians. Anyway, Go VOLS! 😂

💯😂🫶

From the way it looked, it appeared to be the ankle. Hope he's able to recover quickly enough to at least get a shot as a free agent. He's got an NFL body and pretty solid hands.

I posted not even close to his femur and you said try again. Maybe you should change your screen name. Or at least keep your “professional” misdiagnosis to yourself.
