Yeah, they aren’t highly trained, having put in far more work and studying than others. Those degrees and certifications mean nothing."Doctors aren't smarter than other people, they're just better at homework" - Graduate of UT School of Medicine and my roommate at UTK
If doctors are so smart, why didn’t they save the dinosaurs, or dragons?Yeah, they aren’t highly trained, having put in far more work and studying than others. Those degrees and certifications mean nothing.
Modern society’s dismissal of experts in their fields in deference to ignorance is disturbing…and reflective of insecurity.
Yes, doctors know much more about medicine than others. It’s weird that that has to be said.
Yep and most just don't give a S! They just in it for the $$$
Some just has paper work, they don't know their A$$ from a hole in the Ground, so yes some are just in it for the $$$$ a lot of people has book smartsWhat an uninformed and idiotic statement. You have no idea of the YEARS of work and study it takes to be able to diagnose and treat these kind of injuries. It takes extraordinary dedication and sacrifice. It’s not for the money. So whether you are injured like Bru, or you were in a car accident, or you fell off your ladder cleaning your gutters, you should be damned glad people are willing to learn how to treat it. Or maybe you could call up your local realtor and ask him if he could help you. I’m sure he’s not in it just for the money.
I don't understand people getting upset with physicians doing what they do: seeing something and trying to diagnose what's wrong.
If you're an HVAC tech and someone calls and says, "it's the relay. I know it is," do you assume they are right or your assessment will be right?
If you're a mechanic and someone brings in a car with a knock and tells you "it's a loose bolt, maybe a motor mount, I'm sure because I have heard that before" and you can tell right away it's a rod or whatever, aren't you usually right?
If you're an accountant and someone brings their books in and says, "I think I can write this off and deduct it because I read on the Internet......" and you know that's going to trigger an audit, don't you tell them?
The docs here are just doing, particularly the ER/trauma guys, what they do every day and you guys are acting like you might have a better idea because "well I saw it like this....." Exactly how many dislocations have you seen and how many reductions have you done?
