Bruce Pearl is a better basketball coach than Kevin O'Neill

What's the problem henderson? You started a dumb thread to get a rise and got one.

The dumb part is that people disagreed. It should have been a uniting moment for our fanbase.

Here's an idea you seem to have a complete inability to grasp. Some of us don't want a damn to do with the kind of people who were stupid enough, despite being told multiple times what a piece of garbage Pearl was, to buy into his charlatian act. Anyone that naive, dumb, or both isn't someone I feel a need to "unite" with at any time.

O'Neal took over programs that were in shambles when he arrived. Does he have a great record? No coach could have gone into the situations he has gone into and have a good record. O'Neal is a solid coach and recruiter. If he stayed long enough in any program, he would verify that. No question about his coaching. His personality does not fit every where and he has been in various coaching gigs because of that, not his coaching.

He didn't murder someone. He made an idiotic decision to lie to the NCAA.

I'm sure your foresaw six straight tourneys, 2 sweet sixteens, and an elite 8 when you were railing against pearl. Glad no one here buys into wins.

No questions about his coaching? He has a career record of .500 with 2 NCAA wins.

Did you not read the post? He has gone into programs that no one could have won at. This year is an example, he is taking a team with little talent to the dance. He beat Pearl with a team that had no where near the talent Pearl had---twice. If he can't coach, apparently Pearl is an extremely poor coach.

If he is such a great coach, why can he only get jobs at programs no one can win at?

Pearl has taken six straight teams to the dance. Largely, a coach will have his players in place by year 3. In year 3 at northwestern he went 5-25.

Yes, if you narrow it down to 2 games out of 300, o'neill looks great. If you look at their careers it is not close.

O'Neill is only in the dance this year because they added teams. It's a legit argument that they shouldn't even be in. He did a lot to help his bubble team in the last PAC 10 tourney game.

O'Neill is 84-124 against conference competition in his career.

I can't believe this is even an argument

Its an argument because some people despise Pearl and can't be objective. KO is a good coach. He's not in the top 5 winning % in d1, however. Those are facts. Being accused of being a BP worshipper in 3..2..1..

And when I say 6 straight years, I mean 7. Including 8 out of 9.

Had he remained at TN Pearl would not be making history with his 6th straight tourney team. His recruits at UT won four straight trips for Jerry Green, who every one agrees can't coach.

What about 205-207 makes you think he's a good coach?

If being a sub .500 coach in over 400 career games with a handfull a NCAA tourney games doesnt convince them he is a mediocre coach at best, nothing will!!

so KO is a better coach than JG? I mean, if you look at their records...
