Bruce Pearl Suspended

Actually the person I was qouting wasn't a poster on a message board. Good try though. You're awesome.

so it was Mike Hamilton (like you also mentioned)? Interesting he would know the outcome before the NCAA has even ruled. It's a bunch of people throwing out ideas about the possibilities, nothing more.

What happens if Tony Jones comes out and goes 8-0? Does he channel his inner Phillip Fulmer and take Pearl's job?

So we just throw out two million and see what big name
and proven coach grabs the hook. When we first hired Pearl and the first thing he did was kick our best big off the team I thought he was out of his mind. When we gave him a big raise after the first year I thought we should have been more patient and wait to see if he could coach or if his first year was just a fluke. He has proved he can coach and the man really loves Tennessee.
He is the best coach we have had in the more than fifty
years I have been going to watch Tennessee basketball.

Wingate played a year under Pearl. He didn't immediately dismiss him.

Wrong again. 0-2. You should quit trying. I said surely Mike Hamilton has an idea. I guess the only person who can know anything about anything is you, because you said so it is fact right?

About the only person I've read on heard that even has implied this might be the end is gotlieb.

It may be over for pearl (doubtful), but UT will prob still have a price to pay.

I wasn't really trying but ok. The fact you believe someone on another site but needed a link to prove a transfer sits out a year pretty much tells me everything I need. Best of luck to you

I love how people act like lying to the governing body of your program is just some minor slip in judgment.

Hat, be realistic, as an attorney you must know that more lies are told after people are sworn in than in any other situation and most of them are told by the police.
Is it not so.

You really are special. I admit iIwas not well versed on the NCAA handbook on transfers, because until Bryce Brown I didn't care. I guess that means I'm an uneducated idiot unworthy of a conversation with a moderator on Volnation, you win. You don't know who said what I stated earlier. For you to assume to make assumptions you know nothing about shows a lot about who you are. Also, its pretty obvious you were and still are trying to be a d!(k. I'm ok with it though. I'll still sleep fine tonight, not worried at all about what you think or want to believe.

Yet if it is going to cost the program, then yes, you have to let him go. He is not bigger than the program.

Why? Most anyone deserves a second chance but only one in this case.

You know what? I agree. Eddie Sutton deserved a second chance at Kentucky. The SMU coach did too. While we are it, let's not punish Gene Chizik and staff for paying Cam Newton. It was a mistake. Who cares that they might get, it was ONE mistake.

we are not facing the death penalty, so simmer down buddy

that is not what i wanted to hear lws.

There are a lot of really dumb people on this board.

1. The NCAA could decide that the combination of UT's self-imposed penalties and the penalties from the SEC are sufficiently severe and not impose any further punishment.

OR

2. The NCAA could decide that the combination of UT's self-imposed penalties and the penalties from the SEC are not sufficiently severe. If this is the case, they will tack on additional punishment. But OF COURSE the penalties imposed by the University and the SEC are going to be taken into consideration.

I mean, Jesus tap-dancing Christ, how else do you think it would work?

zjc, dude, are you disputing Pearl's success here? Argue against his mistakes with recruits, but to say that Pearl hasn't been successful just ruins your point.

There may be other "Pearl's" in the coaching ranks, but I can see another string of Greens and Petersons before we would land one of the same caliber as Bruce.

Pearl has had a modicum of success, but we don't have to settle for another Pearl. Any AD who cannot hire a top line coach for a program with the facilities and recent history of success we have had needs to be fired.

I'm willing to bet my life that Coach K, Roy Williams, Bill Self, Tom Izzo, and Jay Wright would succeed here.

I would not bet my life on anything to do with coaches.
But, I would bet all the money you would want to bet that we would never get one of those to come here.
