ok and thats nothis job neither is impriving the whole athletic department or bringing recognition to them 2 things in which he has done. the renovations of tba and construction of pratt are because of bruce. they are improvements for the lady vols to practice in and to play in. bruce earns this school alot more money than they had been making as wel, add on the luxury boxes that are in tba and thats a nice cunk of change for the university. he has brought exposure to the iniversity as a whole, not just basketball he is always quick to mention the football team, and recently mentioned the womens indoor track and field. as i stated whether you like him or not he has done good things for the university, alot more tha buzz ever did, and alot more than good ole billy boy up in lexington(well i dont know he has brought them alot of publicity, first time in 18 years not in the ncaa, not sure if thats the publicity that id want though).

I could give a damn less if the Lady Vols have to practice at the Downtown Y. I'm still waiting for you to mention the first thing that is of benefit to anyone other than the Athletic Department.

buzz had time with previous recruits and his recruits. he did nothing with anybody that he had and it was very ecvident. he did nothing with the team of jajaun and chris and dane and cj and major, pearl came in and won an ncaa game with them. yes buzz didntge 10 years to show what he coulddo, but it was evident in the time tha he was there that he was not imprving at all. something bruce had clearly done, and not for nothing but look at where bruce is now and look at what he is doingnow. seems to me hamilton made the right call there

so what has billy g done for uk, or ole roy done for unc, or calhoun done for uconn??? it is not the coaches spot to imprve the university as a whole, if they do awesome but most dont, in fact none that i know of. the athletic department is a huge part of a university and makes the vast majority of the money that the universitu maes besides tuition, which a crappy athetics program and ut wouldnt hae the tuition it does. so in a round about way, pearl improves the basketbal team, gets new facilities for him andthe women gets all the sports teams exposure which now results in making money for the university which goes to whatever the university decides it needs to go to. yea probably going mostly towards athletics but you know what they brng in the money s give it to them. i dnt realy expect pearl to g out and recruit professrs from harvard to come teach at ut, or expext him to donate hissalary to ut education department. name a coach at pearls level that has ever done anything significant enough to even talk about??? al my pointwas is pealr has been good for the university, whether itis strickly the athletic department it doesnt matter, the athleric departmet whether or not you want to admit it is probably the most exciting and important part of the universty.

My gosh, u ppl are never satisfied. B4 Bruce, UT BB was dead as my cricket phone signal. 4 years and u think we should be in the final 4 or something. Jeez Louise. Who you wanna come in next? Coach K? The great and powerful Roy Williams? Give me a break. I appreciate becoming a relevant program again. If some fools want him gone, then be prepared for becoming Fla and Ky's bitch again....

Yeah, I've noticed all the instructor positions he's saved. Pearl has been good for the Athletic Department. He hasn't done the first thing of significance for the University.

Good job using semantics to slam someone - I think you know what he meant. We all know how you feel about Pearl - you're not going to convince the pro-Pearl crowd any more than they'll convince you. And if it plays out how you are predicting, there will be no need. Over the next 2-3 years, we'll see who is right and who is wrong.

Yeah, I've noticed all the instructor positions he's saved. Pearl has been good for the Athletic Department. He hasn't done the first thing of significance for the University.

The Athletic Department donated $4.5 million to the university in direct cash for non-athletic purposes and paid out approximately $7.5 million in student athlete scholarships in fiscal year 2008.

All of those students on scholarship fill up classroom space and create demand for instructors. I know men's basketball is not solely responsible for the ADs financial situation, but I would have to think it was a net profit. So in a way, he very well may have indirectly created an instructor position or two.

Why am I not suprised someone shilling for a body painting buffoon would say something as utterly ludicrous as the athletic department is the "most important part of the university." Classic.

you have yet to answer my question you continue to cnveniently ignore what i said. i asked you has has billy donefor uk or roy done for unc or coach k at duke. what have they done for their respective schools??? and you know damn wel that the athetic department is one of the more important parts of a university and if you deny that then your in denial. without athletics everybody that couldnt get into an ivy league school would just go to coastal carolina or aother close beach campus. i know fr a fact when choosing a school most kids take into consideration the athletics department, and alot of time thats the deciding factor. so if you wanna say its not one ofthe most important parts of the school if not the most then your full of it.

When Kiffin starts wearing body paint and hanging around with Pat Summit, I'll rethink my position.
Posted via VolNation Mobile

You'll rethink your support of Kiffin if he spends time around Pat Summitt???

Fine, if he leaves for North Carolina, Duke, UCLA, Kansas, or the NBA, you win. Otherwise, he'll be leaving for a job worse than the one Billy Clyde will have, and I win. Fair enough?

Knowing that Saint Bruce has turned Tennessee into a Top 6 job (including UK above us) gives me a lot of confidence about where this program is headed. :dance2:
