Bryan Harsin Fired

One thing a lot of people don't realize about Stoops is he's the second longest tenured coach in the SEC behind Saban.

For a conference that changed head coaches more often than McDad changes underwear, that says something about how much Kentucky cares about going the next step in football and how secure his job is at the moment.
They know that they are highly, highly unlikely to do any better than him. Stoops's biggest critics are fans of other SEC schools, particularly big SEC schools like Tennessee, who overestimate UK's resources/standing in the conference and think that if Stoops was really a good coach, he'd be competing for SEC titles or something.

UK has a .502 winning % all-time. Stoops's own winning % at UK is barely over .500 itself because his first 3 years were pretty rough.

However since 2016, Stoops has gone 47-29 (.618), far above their historical average. UK has won 12 bowl games in their history. Stoops alone has won 4 (33%) of them.

You don’t think Lane would recruit well to Auburn?
He hasn’t recruited well at Ole Miss. He turned FAU into last change U with trouble transfer cases. I’ve never known him to rely on recruiting too much. His lone class here didn’t pan out, because he spent more time star watching than actually evaluating for fit and need. I just don’t think he has ever put that much work into recruiting. I’ve not heard it mentioned anywhere about any kind of recruiting prowess on his part.

Auburn is one of those schools that recruits itself if the football team is good. Some way with UT.

I think with Auburn booster, collective getting behind a coach that they want, Lane could recruit very well to Auburn.

Harsin was a horrible fit from a culture standpoint. Good coach and he will rebound out West somewhere IMO.

I dont think there is any way they don't go the good ol' boy route this go around with their boosters.

I am thinking they strike out on a few higher profile guys like Ruhle and Kiffin, too much push back on Freeze, and they end up with Kevin Steele and some hotshot up and coming OC.

He doesn't have to recruit well at Ole Miss. He made it clear that he will recruit 10-15 guys tops and use the portal to fill out the rest of the class. Hard to rank classes with portal guys.

Of course if he continues to win 9-10 games regularly at Ole Miss, recruiting likely improves on its own as well.

I remember back in the olden days, coaches would get at least three years, Harsin didn't even get two. Wow.
Difficult to flip a roster in that short timespan even in the age of the transfer portal/free agency.

I’d take a shot at Rhule also . Forget what happened w/ the Panthers, he could win at Auburn.

Auburn's next coach will be a shock to CFB, Auburn fans, and the SEC. They will hire none other than Mike O’Shea, current coach of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

They won’t strike out on Kiffin if they want him. He would leave Ole Miss hanging on game day morning if he gets that call.
