People in the northwest US don't understand the South and our traditions. With that being said, they will NEVER understand our football down here and why they can't get the top prospects. They just won't. Football up there is just a fun thing to do on a Saturday. Football down here is like a religion; it brings families together, it settles longtime disputes (if only for a day), it resonates throughout this entire region. I'm telling you right now they just don't understand, and no matter what you say on there will change that fact. It's just a completely different culture.

Sounds like he has his head straight, unlike that coker kid...Can't wait to see what he can do for us!

He basically said that his first choice was Oregon but his parents didn't approve. Interesting.
I think you need to get out, travel around and get to know some people out of town if you really think this.
Does me posting here for months about this indicate to you that football is just something people in the Northwest "enjoy on Saturdays"?

I've been out west multiple times. Lived out in Colorado for a while. I have a large reference point. Football in the west is NOTHING like the South no matter how much you want to pretend otherwise.

I think one thing that makes the SEC different than every other conference is that there are 7 or 8 schools who's fans genuinely think their team should be a national contender every year. UT, UF, UGA, LSU, BAMA, Aub, and to a lesser extent Ole Miss and Arky all believe that their teams should win 10 games a year.
