Thanks for ur opinion sab. But i think that family should have a role but not tell them where there going and pretty much force them to go there. IMO

my guess would be

UT-40%
LSU- 10%
Miami-35%
Oregon- 15%

I agree with Sab i think he has lost interest in Oregon and that UM will be our main competition. That being said, Brown will be a Vol in the end.

My guesses... based on 'reading the tea leaves' and following what's been reported.

UT-50% (BB's first choice)
Miami-35% (Arthur Sr.'s first choice)
Oregon- 10% (Butler's first choice, the Brown family's last choice of the top 3)
LSU- 5% (Les Miles' first choice)

I think it is:

UT - 60%
Miami - 30% (although, I really don't think he has a scholarship here anymore)
LSU - 10%

How much do you think Oku figures into this now? If Brown is a 3-down back, why would Oku want to see Brown come to UT? Do you think Oku can steer Brown to UT at this point or do you think Brown already knows what he is going to do at this point?

By the way, from everything I've read so far, Miami's offer expired on Feb 18th and UM said they were not going to 'reoffer' him. I think its between UT and Oregon.

I think it is in running backs best interests to be able to share carries at the college level. All other things being equal, NFL teams would rather draft a back with 400 carries in his career rather than one with 1000 carries. Backs that share carries in college have less millage on their bodies. There are exceptions to this though.

To me the most atrocious element associated with Butler's representation of BB is that this family turned to him for help with giving BB the best chance he has at doing well professionally in NFL.

In turn, Butler recommends Oregon, because Butler fantasizes that Nike will do for Butler's business what it has done for others in the sports world. His recommendation is purely self-serving as any professional representing BB would have ruled out Oregon long, long ago.

The top recruit in the nation has a lot more choices that serve the NFL objective far, far better than does a program that has never won a national championship. All 3 of the other options are vastly superior to Oregon. It is the one that doesn't belong on the list.

USC would have been the obvious Pac-10 team if he wanted to play on the west coast as it's the only team west of Texas that generates enough national attention to warrant serious consideration. And, of course, it has a track record of working with talented players like BB, developing their talents, and placing them in the NFL.

Maybe that's why I've argued too much with Wheaton. I can't stand to see this kid make a choice that dumb. LSU and Miami are clearly better options than Oregon. UT is the best of this set. Our staff is all NFL and includes the best college RB coach in the business.

If we are BB's first choice, as I suspect, he really doesn't need to pray for the right answer on where to go, but just the right answer on how to convince his dad to support his decision. I'd forget about Butler, if I was him.

These are just my opinions that I wanted to share with fellow Vols fans on a UT board. This is the only one I frequent--and it's not to recruit BB. I was here long before and will be here long after irrespective of the decision BB makes.

My views are not directed to you and your vanity, Wheaton. Thus, there is no need to tell me how you had a better W/L record last year, your preseason ranking for next year is higher, that Lane Kiffin cannot recruit the same talent to Knoxville that he did to USC, or any of that other horse manure that has nothing to do with BB's objectives; you've posted enough already). I've already considered all that bogus crap in forming these opinions.

Funny how if we got Bryce Brown it would make it hard to get Oku, but now that we have Oku, it should help us in getting Brown.

A rectangle can never be a square, but a square can always be a rectangle.

Was the part about his family searching for a home in Knoxville a rumor or an inside joke?

I never can tell here.

which articles make it appear as though BB will come to knoxville? i've been searching through this thread but there is so much fluff its impossible to find.

As far as I know, there are not articles which are calling BB to Knoxville. It's from GQ, and most if not all are saying it is credible

I personally think that the father will end up as the most influential person in this race and Bryce will end up in Miami, unless Art, Jr. transfers. That is not out of the question but has yet to happen. If Art, Jr. asks for a transfer, then we have a shot.

Kevin, what days did you host Basillio's show. I would like to listen to it. I caught part of one day and you did well.

I did Tony's show with Tony on Tuesday the 17th and was alone on the 18th. Go to The Edge on TonyBasilio.com and he does have an archive you can listen to.

Ok first of all please don't take this wrong way because I really would love to B. Brown to come to the Hill but I have a question regarding is attitude and make up (I don't know and I'm not speculating).

Brown seems like the type of guy that likes the attention, whether it's his ongoing recruiting or talking about the CFL. Would he become a distraction to the team because of arguing about Playing time or touches? Because RB is one of the few positions that we actually have some depth and talent at and it might be hard to get enough touches to everyone.

First, Bryce never said a word about the CFL. Secondly, he hasn't attempted to get a bunch of attention, more than any other recruit. He actually swore off interviews for a few weeks around signing day to avoid the attention, until he found one he wanted to do. :)

As far as PT or touches, Bryce has made it clear he wants to be a cog and not the whole machine. Take that FWIW, I do not think he would ever be a problem.

by the way kev...usc pulled their offer to bb. But other than that you are correct. Is there a vault of basillio shows featuring you? I'd be interested in hearing.

USC was really a mutual decision. At the time I did my first interview, he'd talked to them on a limited bases and thought he may visit out there, coincidently, that was about the same time USC was featured on SC and ESPN for having too many RBs, and Bryce and USC decided it was best for them to not be in the race. Hence why he visited LSU.

And the answer about TB's show is above.

We had a shot with a lot of players.

But watch the father in this one. I hope that our staff is recruiting Art, Sr. as hard as they are after Bryce. That would be how we can win this race.

I have said for awhile Butler isn't going to be as influential as people think. Mr. Brown will be critical, but so will his mother. She was the one who grew very weary of the recruiting process in January and kind of caused the break from it. But overall, your point is correct.

VSPN, do you think we can expect any more information or interviews to overanalyze between now and the 16th, or is it going to stay fairly quiet until then? can you comment on the current relationship between Kiff and Bryce's parents?
