Bryce Brown (CLOSED)

I respect your opinion. I guess that's what I'm saying. It's something that can't really be proven because it won't happen. So, it's an opinion.

Pfft. Those backs aren't good. Right. How about 1st round picks Lynch and Jackson? NFL nobodies? I think my point stands that there are multiple examples of RBs that were star recruits, played in the Pac-10 and went high in NFL drafts. Arguments over what they did once there are verging into a new subject relying on a lot of non-college related factors (what team they ended up on, etc.).

Who said they aren't that good?

I like that you respect my opinion and all, but that is bending what I said a little.

How in hell does this thread continue to turn into an SEC vs PAC 10 or Oregon vs UT debate even though it's been repeatedly said for it not to?

He started it.

Not trying to run Wheaton off, but he is stating his opinion why Oregon is a good choice for him. And us UT fans are stating our case.

Uh...because there isn't any news on Bryce Brown?

So that entitles people to fill a thread with off topic argument?

Why not just go make a "PAC 10 vs SEC" thread or something. Some people come here to read about BB, and if there's 10 pages of posts about Oregon, they have to sift thru that find out there's nothing new.

No, that isn't what's happening. There's no way that debate can take up as many pages as this has. It's become an Oregon/UT comparison thread and it's asinine.

If it's not directly related to Bryce Brown, I think you should make a new topic and argue about it there.

So you're calling TU fans rednecks?

Yes Wheaton Texas university and I would rather be a Redneck than Gay. I know do not feed the trolls. I find it remarkable that your ip addresses have not been banned.

You have contributed nothing to this thread.

Since you are connected with BB, call him up, tell him to sign, and this madness will end.

Until that happens this will continue. I have more posts in this thread today, than I have in here total.

I never said that it "entitled" anyone to do anything. Ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer. Tell me, does bitching about people being off topic make things more on-topic?

Someone do make a thread about it. I would love to debate Weaton on this topic. Simply looking at it from BBs perspective... UT has a history of great RBs, we run a prostyle offense, and he will get considerable playing time against the best defenses in the country. Oregon, on the other hand, runs a spread option (I think) oriented offense. NO offense in the NFL will ever be anything like that. Defenses are too fast and the QBs would get killed. Too much money. Its gimmicky and would probably hurt his stock if anything. He would get the numbers but simply wouldn't look good coming from that style of offense.
That's not to say great players can't come from Oregon, but pro scouts would much rather see a great back from a pro style O in the SEC than an option O in the pac-usc.

I haven't said a word about it until now. AFTER several mods and the owner of the site said something. Are they "bitching"?

No. We all just want the easiest way to find the info we are looking for. Going off topic for the millionth time in a thread where it's been threatened to ban the next one who does is ridiculous. It's out of control and I felt like saying something.

It's becoming annoying to the point I don't even want to come to it.

I talked with lacey earps the other day thinking that she had some incite to the bryce brown situation and unfortunately she didn't sound to optimistic. I think he's Baton Rouge bound.

3 things I know:

I'm not a mod
Neither are you
We're both off topic
Oh gawd it's true

I think your incite is a little off. My insight says he is UT bound. :p

Yep. It's true now. I wasn't singling you or anyone else out. I was pointing out the ridiculousness of what continues to become of the this thread.

Tell ya what, to keep from contributing to the problem like you think I am, I'll just stay out of the BB thread, b/c I certainly don't "get" anything from it.

What I would like to know is what is considered off topic?

If this thread is strickly for information purposes only, nobody should reply when someone posts information period. For no reason at all. I know that some of these threads get way out in left field, and they shouldn't. But discussing the pros and cons of BB going to UT or Oregon, or any other school is on topic in my opinion.

Having conversation about BB and his direct relation to a school is one thing. This, on several occasions, has become about the respective schools and has no relation to BB or his recruitment. It's been a pissing match.

Little did I know that by voicing that opinion, I'd become part of the problem, but after this evening, that won't be an issue anymore.

I agree with you. I like civil discussions with other fan bases involved with a recruit, to get their perspective as to what that player may think about their school, and why he would fit there.

Some of the stuff has gotten out of line ,and as you say is a pissing contest.
