Bubblegeddon Has Begun.

I'm disappointed in Kennedy. They should be better than this with that backcourt.
Not having a healthy Reggie Buckner takes his frontcourt from serviceable to sorry. That said, the loss at home to Arkansas is unforgivable. They are going to need to beat Vanderbilt and Florida in Oxford or they're in real trouble.

How did Cal get to be buddies with King James?

Didn't that occur because of their mutual relationship with WWWes? I know that he is closely affiliated with LeBron. I've seen that picture of Wes consoling LeBron on the floor after a loss in the playoffs.

Pitino nailing a future Tiger conquest is probably more relevant, but neither matters much. They have a roster of recruiting busts.

Hasn't been the same Pitino for many years now. I think he has some health problems that aren't life threatening or publicly documented ala Urban Meyer.

Pitino has become pathetic. He has his cronies go sniffing around any and every NBA opening, then acts offended when people ask him about it, as if he's so noble and so committed to the 'Ville.

Sounds like it is time to find out if Jurich is the man I think he is.

I'm confident Tom and Pitino have had some conversations about an exit strategy. It is readily apparent that the situation has become untenable.

How does Ralph Willard factor into that strategy - or does he?
I think Willard came in to run the show if things got so bad Pitino felt the need to take a leave of absence this season. Louisville certainly isn't going to make him Pitino's full time successor.

Hmmm. Interesting theory. It certainly isn't the same Rick Pitino.

Who would take that job in its current state, though? Just saying.

Coach Cal in two years after he jumpts to the NBA and then gets fired after a lackluster 21-61 campaign.

Hopefully Kentucky will have hired another Italian coach.

They're opening a new state of the art arena next year, their talent base is pretty good, they're in the Big East. Why wouldn't a coach want that job?

washington is done.

The whole Pac-10 has done themselves in. I am near-expecting the conference tournament winners to be the only team in, and possibly even as an 8-10 seed, depending on who it is.

Side Pac-10/local question for hat: Oregon seems to be getting ready to get off the Ernie Kent rollercoaster. Given how long he's had, there's no reason they shouldn't be running away with the conference in a year like this. Instead, they might finish last in the conference. Combine that with UofO opening up a new gym they spent some serious coin on, and I'd say Kent's days are numbered as of now, short of a conference title and Sweet 16 trip.

Who do they go to for their program?

The Big East has played themselves out of a lot of at-large bids over the last couple days... Maybe we'll see an unprecedented number of mid-major at large teams this year? Or do those spots go to more teams from the ACC/Big XII/Big Ten?

Oregon will make a serious run at Mark Few. If that fails, the candidate list will include pretty much anyone in the Nike stable of coaches who isn't at a flagship program.

Any chance Few leaves?

Any other news - Florida sure likes a Final Four team to me. The A-10 may have a better resume than the SEC.
