Buc-ee's

We went in January, N. AL on I-65. Appreciated the clean restrooms, but with a 8 hour drive I didn't feel like shopping for stuff.
i dont see the allure. food was expensive, and really looked disgusting. didnt even east eat cause it looked so nasty. Of course, family ate there. I can eat microwaved meat in a sleeve anyday.

The novelty wore off very quickly. But hey kids enjoyed, mostly cause they got toys.

Checked it off the box, won't go back.

The company has announced the Sevierville store will not make the June 5th opening. It will be later in June.

I finally stopped at one the other day for the first time. After my immediate shock and awe at the sheer size and number of pumps, I went inside, albeit it was a pretty quick stop. The staff was super courteous and welcoming. I sampled some jerky, fudge, and brisket, and all were very good (which surprised me, with the brisket -- they can be tricky to do well). I had eaten dinner just before the trip, so all I brought back was a couple of bags of jerky -- which I have really enjoyed -- and some fudge for my kids.

I'll definitely stop again in the near future and would like to try an actual meal. It's also nice to see that they have a whole row of Tesla superchargers, in case I ever make a longer trip and need to recharge. That's a great combo idea, as spending 20-30 minutes there wouldn't be a burden, at all.

Over by the Brisket sandwich and other stations in that pod, there are paper bags of "Bucee Chips". Thicker cut home fried tater chips. They were very good. I've had the brisket sandwich 3 times now. Two excellent, one meh. Just like any food retailer like this, the freshest and juiciest will be on the back. Last time I snatched it off the front. THe variety of sandwiches aren't cheap, but make sure you know which ones you pick up. Some of the sandwich slides are extra or double meat.

never been in a Bucees bathroom where there wasn't an attendant working, and keeping the place very clean. never seen any employee just standing around on their phone. they work hard there.

A week ago, I was traveling south on I-75 and stopped at the Buc-ees in the Ft. Valley/Warner Robins area. Maybe I had my expectations set way too high after reading this thread, but aside from the relatively good gas prices I wasn't particularly impressed or enthralled by the place. The food I had was ok for gas station vittles (I had a brisket/egg breakfast taco), the bathroom was indeed clean, but overall the place felt like the Target/cleaner version of the gas station t-shirt outlets one runs across further south in Florida. As far as a place to tank up, take a leak, and grab a fountain drink...it wasn't any better than a Quiktrip, just bigger and slam filled with people.
