Burns re-considering? From Tony Basilio

Probably 150,000 reasons why he will be the LSU Friday night man.

Best of luck to Dolly in the draft....still think when all is said and done, he is the # 8-12 range pick.
If he performs for LSU like he did for us as a starter then good for us IMO.

Random LSU guy says to bookmark it, so here it is

That guy isn’t random. He hosts a college baseball podcast that interviews all sorts of players from around the country, mainly SEC guys though, including Chase Burns in the past

Now I’m not sure if he’s heard something that made him say that or he’s just guessing, but that’s a guy who might have some legitimate info. He knows a lot of people around the sport

Yes, very interesting that he would say that. He could be totally wrong and just speculating, but think he would at least be doing so on a somewhat informed basis — unlike some national pundits who sometimes seem to know significantly less about Tennessee situations than VolNation readers.

I must admit after reading trails of tweets about the Burns’ saga, I’m now at the point where I believe it is possible he’s coming back. I’m also believing that lots of the chatter about teammates not liking Burns, or he said things while on the bench about transferring, etc was overblown.

Regardless, if the guys and the coaches want him back, then I’m all for it.

Agreed. I'm apathetic about his return. If he does, I hope he's a good teammate and influence in the locker room. I'll say this. If he does return and by some miracle Galanie and Holman are on the roster as well, I'll be making some reservations in Omaha next year.

Why wouldn't anyone not want a stud pitcher on their team, people amaze me sometimes were adults not 5 year olds!!!!!

I'm definitely not apathetic. I'd be like a kid on Christmas morning if he decides to stay. :)

Eric Cain said he has heard nothing to suggest Burns would return.
Just my opinion, I'm more interested to see what Ben McKee has to say over Cain, he seems a lot more "in the know" in terms of the baseball program than Cain.

Agreed. I really like Cain, but since I’ve been a member of On3, I don’t feel like he “breaks” news very often. Most of his responses to things are “I don’t know.”

McKee is taking vacation this week. May need to count on alternate resources.

I think he's just started making his baseball insider contacts, he hasn't been covering it real hard for very long.

I agree Burns stuff was overblown. I have from decent authority a lot of it happened, but I highly doubt his teammates hate him or that it was as big of a deal as it’s being made out to be. At the end of the day he’s competitive as hell and obviously was frustrated at first when he got moved

But he turned that frustration into one hell of a second half and I’m sure his teammates all love him for that. TN fought hard at the end of the year to keep him and it sounds like maybe that might be a possibility again

All I know is that Burns has some terrible advisors in his life. This situation blew up into something a lot bigger than it needed to be
