Bush most unpopular President in modern history

since you're grasping at straws, take a look at the 4-12 to 4-15 numbers and compare those with the most recent numbers. The Dems' unfavorable rating is increasing at a greater rate than the GOP's. :peace2:

point being that the set of facts in those past instances differed greatly from today. we're talking about electing a woman or minority for the first time in our history, and I don't believe we're that enlightened yet.

Enlightenment does not come before change in one's set of views/beliefs.

Grasping at straws all I did was give you the info from the latest poll. I guess someone doesn't like the reality of the numbers provided. I'll tell you what come hunt me out when Bush or the congressional gop gets within 5 points they don't even have to be as popular just within 5 points I'll be waiting.
LMAO:eek:k:

Rep. or Dem. seem to have been greatly mislead by our bad intelligence causing them to vote pro war. Do you think Bush really thought they had WMDs or he just made it look that way and used it as a vehicle to go to war?
I think the vast majority of Americans believed Hussein had WMD, based upon his dusting, no pun intended, of the Kurds.

Clinton was convinced and he had pretty good intelligence from his time in office.

learn how to properly quote someone.

the reality that you think I have trouble facing is that nobody in Washington DC is winning the hearts and minds of the American people. The GOP keeps shooting themselves in the foot and the Democrats are so focused on making Bush look bad that they've pissed away whatever "mandate" last November's election gave them.

Yeah, that's when the whole idea of the thing was to get in, rebuild (find the terrorists?) and get out or whatever. We're just kind of lingering around there right now. I don't get why we're over there. What, exactly is the goal one year down the road there? Three? Five?
Nobody who's even remotely a student of history believed this was going to be a get in and get out affair. I'd say those in the Senate had a very clear idea at the time and our now simply waffling in the face of criticism from John Q.

There was never a debate. Those wanting to accuse the administration of misleading us to war are doing so purely for grandstanding purposes, not because they believe it.

thanks grasshopper, but that's my point. the views / beliefs of the voting public haven't changed that drastically yet.

I thought you were including yourself in your comment by saying "we".

I respectfully disagree. I think this country is ready and desperately needs a different perspective on leadership.

Exactly. You personally disagree, but are not representative of the nation as a whole. I'm with you and just want the administration that most closely reflects my value set in office, but lotsa tweeners don't see it that way.

If Saddam had WMD it stands to reason he would have used them on U.S. troops invading Iraq. Troops hunting him and his sons down.

There was a good episode on Frontline dealing with the intelligence before the Iraq war. They interviewed a half dozen former high-ranking CIA officials. They all said the same thing. Bush and Cheney ignored most of the intelligence they had gathered that didn't support the conclusion Saddam had WMD's.

Basically this is what happened. Cheney was Secretary of Defense under Bush 1, and they learned during the Persian Gulf War that Saddam was 6 weeks away from having a Nuclear Weapon when they attacked him and the CIA didn't have a clue.

After that experience, Cheney rejected all the intelligence CIA presented as Vice-President because of past experience with the CIA. Turns out he was wrong, and the CIA was right. In a nutshell that's what Frontline described as what happened.

Dan Quayle was Bush 1's VP.

How is he worse than Carter?

The story was based on Presidental approval rating. More people approved of Carter during his presidency then Bush.

In a nutshell, only 2 Presidents have ever had lower approval ratings, Truman and Nixon. They were only a pt lower then Bush's.

Nixon 4 days before he resigned, and Truman briefly during 1 month but later bounced back. Bush has had his low 3 separate times in the last 14 months.

Polls are biased. Its like polling Bammers on if the Vols would win a National Championship, your not gonna get a fair response. This is the reason the American people believe that Bush is a horrible president, because of these biased polls. If you really want to see if the American people favor the war and the president then poll us all. Still even then you are gonna have people that have NO political background giving answers and that right there is still a reason to believe that polls are biased. So I guess basically, polls are biased based on ignorance.

Are you saying you support Bush? LOL......he may or may not be the worst, but he is definitely the most incompetent. His last few press conferences have been a joke and are an embarrassment to him, his family, his administration, his party and most importantly, the American people

I submit to you that a vast majority of the population is completely ignorant.
