Now lets see how badly he wanted this job. Man, I wouldn't want to be CBJ right now. The dude is got to pull a rabbit out of his back pocket.

We need him to win. We can't afford any more coaching changes. The great state of Tennessee deserves a winning season and soon.

The coach worship of our fan base is embarrassing. Stop making excuses for the absolute crap Butch and staff are putting on the field. This staff has been awful thus far this season.

So what do you want, a new coach every year, and they never go anywhere. I wish they were better, but they don't have the overall talent to get there yet, but he is slowly teaching them how to win. It will take time, but I think if people can have a little patience, they challenge for the SEC in either 2015 or 2016.

The players are starting to act like they did with Dools. Undisciplined and many are just plain lazy, especially the O-line. Look at the penalties, TO's, sloppy execution, 3rd and Chavis conversions, etc.

Not true. A win vs Georgia or Florida or Alabama is "a win". A win vs S Alabama, a Sun Belt team is NOT a win when you get absolutely manhandled and embarrassed in the second half outside of 1 drive. Sorry, it's just not.

So..you'd rather lose to them? I know it was terrible and embarrassing, but it's better than losing. I didn't think UT was going to win, but they did.

Of course he owns it .. he's the coach right. I haven't heard him blame it on anybody else ... have you? Get a grip ... we don't have the talent and haven't in a very long time.

I keep seeing we don't have the talent. Against Oregon and Florida no. But come on guys if we don't have sun belt level talent then wth??

best coaching staff in america, uh??? I would love to ask butch about this quote and how he feels about this hurry up and punt, offense. Maybe Tennessee needs to open up the checkbook like other top tier sec schools. I guess you cant be near last in coach pay and get the best in coaching. old rule of thumb, follow the money. Hint low in pay, bottom dweller of conference.

Guys there is an old saying. "You can't make Chicken Salad with Chicken S#^!" CBJ is trying to hold this roster together with bailing wire and duct tape until reinforcements can come in over the next couple recruiting classes.

The staff was outcoached today, however they bowed their backs and had a nice stand at the end. I am not sold on our defensive coach and there is ony so much you can do with Worley, he is just not SEC caliber.

Probably one of the most reasonable posts I've seen yet on the game.

Defensive coordinator didn't do a thing all game. And there's nothing coaching can do to over come throws 5 feet over a receiver.

He has a heck of a lot more talent to work with than the coaches at South Alabama.

I hate to say it, but they have a better quarterback than we do. And I believe he really wants to save the freshmen until next year if he can, when they will be much more comfortable with the system and probably perform at a high level. Barring Worley injury, we will not see them this year, I think he is playing for the future. Hopefully we can get to a bowl, but we clearly don't have the talent to challenge for the SEC, so next two years are teh focus.

It won't get fixed till the higher ups decide to start trying to compete in this conference.
