Butch Jones on freshman QBs

Which leaves us with one. Hoping for no QB injuries. Last thing we need is an injury to Worley.

Yeah he is great we can't afford to lose him. Has anyone watched any of the games and Worley's performance? I agree Peterman looked awful but Worley looks just as bad. We had a spark of life and on a 2nd and 3 he throws a God awful pass that gets picked.

I think it's time for the Vol Nation to understand we are pathetic at QB. Heck go back and watch the spring game and then look at now neither has shown any progress. I just don't think either is SEC QB material and thats Dooley's fault. Hopefully one of the Freshman will step up and lead us to the promise land next year. If the freshman don't pan out that will be on CBJ. But for now the play on the field is overall far better than we have seen in years, except of course for the QB play.

QB play is not acceptable. Have you read CBJ's comment about freshman QB's. they r not ready YET. Force feeding are exact words used by CBJ. Time will come but until then......I hope Worley doesn't get hurt or we may be in a lot of trouble.

No way he started Peterman because the fans wanted it. He isn't that dumb. I think he felt Peterman, as a better runner, gave yes a better chance to win. Florida lined up to stop any running game and we struggled offensively. I agreed with the change at the time.

<SIGH> Yeah well it is kind of pointless to have a run option offense where there IS no option!

I said it in another thread and I will say it again here. If you want Worley to get his confidence going, then open the offense up. Go 4 wide in a shotgun with one RB standing beside him with the threat of running a draw play in the back of a team's mind.

Let Worley throw 40+ times in a game to his recievers. We keep saying we have young WR's who don't have a ton of experience. Last time I checked running routes in games and catching balls in real games is how they get better and prove they are worthy to be on this team.

People can flame away at me all they want but we don't have the personnel to run a Read Option offense because of 2 things: We have no QB's with speed and athleticism. We have no RB's with elite speed or the ability to run over a would be tackler. Jalen Hurd can't get here fast enough because honestly watching Neal and Lane run is making me sick.

That's all I remember. Wchen I learned Peterman was starting, the game plan I expected wasn't what I saw today.

Agree. I would have expected the reason for not announcing the qb would be because there was a scheme change. Not just the same crap with another crappy qb

Freak, so many people on VN are or at least were so positive about Peterman, that I have no doubt the kid has potential. But for the life of me, I can't understand how so many expected him to walk on that field and perform well with so little past playing time, especially against that level of defensive play.
