Butch Jones out to spark a renaissance at Tennessee - SI.com

Tennessee hasn't won more than seven games since Phillip Fulmer took it to the 2007 SEC title game, and the stability of a program with six national championships has suffered drastically.

It's sad to see that and realize it has been a very long time since we have been near the top.

Good read but a big test of will is the ga game. Probably a packed house n he will have lost to fla n ducks n first big home game.

If that game gets out of control n he looks up n second half n a mass exit of fans how does he keep focused n keep team motivated..

He has never watched 100k fans walk out on him.. It will be interesting for sure.

How does he deal with it?

It's simple.

He whips they ass.

I kinda feel for the guy because many of us are so jaded and so cynical because of the last 5 years. Personally, when I read or hear what he says I can feel that twinge of belief well up inside. But then I remember our recent history and I force myself to take his words with a grain of salt.

Sincerely hope Butch can back up all the great things he says with the product on the field. If he can validate his words with the performance on the field, I hope the good feelings will heal the fans so that we can finally purge ourselves of the doubt and negativity that permeates.

Here's hoping that we aren't getting Butch slapped.

He gets it. Whether or not we can get over the hump in this beast of a league which is the sec only time will tell. The fact that he's already pointed out many things that dooley completely missed is a start.

I think back to the way I supported Dooley and now seeing the way Butch has done things in such a small amount of time, well...I'm sorry everyone!!

No harm in supporting your coach...until he deserves the loss of that support...for me the MO game

Good thoughts but I'm begging you to mix in a period, a comma, hell even a dash or semicolon regarding that run-on sentence there. No offense.

There are people that will not be denied. CBJ is here because he wants to be and he won't settle for anything less than being on top. I believe he will do it.

No apology necessary. Look, whomever the coach may be, we want them to suceed (even if we may not like them). That's because we love Tennessee football and the kids that come to UT to play for us. That will never change.

Its easy to root for someone that you're praying can bring our football team back to national dominance, I'm guilty also.
