That's sounds great and hope it happens. I'm sure UTs PR dept worked hard and long to get the wording just right but am I missing why now we should all think CBJ is the guy to bring us back. Let's not forget that we currently have a president that speaks very well, and gives his minions the moon and the stars in his speeches. Yet hasn't done jack to improve the economy or anything else. Don't get upset at us that read through the bs and are tired of it. We need results. I liked Dooley cause he told me as a fan what was wrong and told me how he was going to fix it. CBJs reheroic sounds good to the simple minded, but to the ones that know the truth it's difficult to swallow. Mainly because I don't know if he truly knows the issues he faces, and if he is able to fix them. With Dooley I had that confidence.

Honestly I'm confused why you felt this was an appropriate response to that other post...

I think we should hire coaches and evaluate them before they coach a game. That way,you can gripe about all our athletic programs every day of every year. Go back to your favorite teams and help them rather than Tennessee.

This is absolutely right. An elite coach would have landed some of that elite talent in 30 days - especially in our positions of need. Has happened with all the major new SEC hires. I like CBJ, he is a major upgrade, and he has a lot more upside than Doolander.

But he has to overachieve now for the reasons stated above. He's got to be a +2 coach in a league where tier two is Steve Spurrier at USCe.

Don't know when it will be but my want for dooley to stay wasn't because I had a crush on his hair but because imho he was the best combo of biz rebuilding smarts and coach. Not many out there with that combo. We need to remember cfb is a biz not just football.

I supported Dooley until the team started quitting right in the middle of big games (Florida) and games were lost directly because of our coach (Missouri)...then you backtrack to the beginning of his tenure and realize that to be the complexion of his teams...weak minded and weak spirited..I don't KNOW that Butch's way will be better...but I like our chances...ALOTBETTER

Not a Dooley apologist at ALL and not that it even matters now, but this has got to be THE most misquoted thing Dooley has ever said. Dooley NEVER said "hey you're not going to have Tennessee to kick around anymore." What he said was "our team has taken on an attitude of you're not going to have UT to kick around anymore." Big difference in terms of context.

Sure it is. The way it has been quoted leads you to think he was directly challenging the other programs. All he was doing was describing the team's new attitude. However like I said, it doesn't matter now. What's done is done.

I know u been on here a minute so I'm sure u experienced all the griping while dooley was here. It doesn't compare with what I say. If u could comprehend my POV, instead of trying to tell me to find a new team cause u r unable to create an actual argument to counter mine, u would see that my gripe is with the fan base more than the coaches.

Finally...u want me to change my favorite team?!?!? Are u the one that is going to come to my house and into my office to remove my UT diploma?!? Just making sure to expect you. Btw - I live in TX. Don't ever tell anyone to change their favorite team. I've gotten in it with many and I've never said that once. Its a pet peeve when I see it done cause it shows ignorance and inability to actually have a conversation. Its not ur place to do it. So bite me and put me on ignore. Ok??

The difference between Jones saying vs those other guys?

He has proven it on the field.. his system works.. 2 schools..2 different states..2 different conferences.

Lets hope it translates into the SEC..

Fans need to look in the mirror to see who is to blame for a major part of this past seasons debacle.

I disagree, there are plenty of recruiting stories that have come out against dooley. Also the same mistakes were being made with substitutions and time management. New coaches in third year and several of the key players being juniors can be attributed to the improvement. Dooley was in way over his head and there is no history to say otherwise. Butch has a history of winning seasons, dooley had one i believe. Im surprised there are a few dooley supporters left.

As they say, all good Texans came from Tennessee. I assume the UT diploma is from Tennessee; not Texas. However, if you are so proud of Tennessee, why no try taking a positive attitude about the football program rather than the negative stuff. I don't put anyone on ignore. I just wish our fans would give our coaches a year or two before they throw them under the bus. It seems that many of the non-supporters are fans who jump off the train when we face hard times. In my 74 years, I have seen the best of times and the worst of times and I still support our athletic programs because I love my school and will continue to defend them. Success in life depends on many things and one of the most important is a positive attitude. Some of the posters appear to emphasize the negative rather the positive experienced. I wish those people could experience the rush of positive vs negative.
