Butch, Pruitt and Heupel Similarities

Nope! But at least Saban is trying to fix the QB situation by playing other QB’s to see which one gives them the best chance to win.
Saban played 2 new guys yesterday because they had the luxury of playing South Florida, not the University of Florida. Maybe what’s best for Bama’s team is different than what’s best for our team.

Yep. One of my biggest gripes is how we simply do not use the early season cupcakes to play our youngsters. We should have gotten Nico and others a lot more reps especially in the Austin Peay game. No way they were going to beat us but we just didn't get those kids in. Put them on the field with the starters and let 'em get some reps. You don't have to sub the entire unit.

Bama had already lost to Texas when they took Milroe out. They have 2 highly touted prospects behind him. If you think everything wrong this football is Joe Milton you might want to look again at what happened last night.

We ran 13 plays entire 1st half. I seen 5 timeouts called because we couldn’t get lined up right or Milton was about to get a delay of game. Milton even called a timeout with plenty of time on play clock, and Herbstreet was like why? Milton lack of awareness hurt the game big time. Then his judgment to throw the interception with a man hanging on him wasn’t called for. He throws it up in the air and no Tennessee player was with in 20 yards, hell it looked like a punt. On 4th and 8 Milton checks it down to running back for 3 years play in middle of field.
Then we get to the 4th quarter and we are running the ball up the middle with 4 minutes left in game with 1 time out down by 16. Running draw plays to run the clock out in first half, and then running instead of stretching the field. It’s obvious the coaching staff don’t trust Milton to go down the field. Hell of your gonna loss, at least try to stretch the field.
Timeouts- we had to use 2 quick timeouts coming out of the half on the 1st series of the half so we didn’t get a delay of game. It’s obvious that Milton can not run this offense consistently at the speed Heupel wants to run it. Either Heupel has to change his offensive philosophy to match what Milton does best, or change Quarterbacks. When we come out the 3rd quarter running the ball and being physical and slowing down, we moved the a lot better. But with this new clock rules we cant afford to get down and expect to come back with an inaccurate QB and running he ball up the middle.
It wasn’t all Milton, but when your QB isn’t aware of the game it will cause pre snap penalties also. Not only did he throw the INT he had a fumble he was lucky enough to fall back on.

So tell me what am I wrong about? I am
always up to hearing others people take on the same exact thing I seen. Everyone can watch the same exact thing, but all will see it different ways and have different opinions on it. So please tell me what I got wrong.

You have been wrong on virtually everything. But your kind is made up. Just watch what guys like Fred White and Jonathan Crompton have said. They have forgotten more football than you will ever know.

Ok. If I am have been wrong on every thing then it won’t be so hard to tell me what it is I’m wrong on and then tell me what’s right. They are smart people and have played at the highest level. I only see what my eyes tell me on the field Saturdays. I don’t need to be an expert to know that I see subpar performance and play calling. The play calling is subpar due to the limitations we have at QB.

Milton game awareness is non existent. Having to use 2 timeouts on the 1st series out of Halftime was shocking. We are running the ball down by 16 with 4 minutes left on 3Rd and long. If the coaches trusted Milton to throw the ball deep we wouldn’t be wasting time with 4 minutes left down 16. The play calling is limited with Milton at QB.
Milton has looked like hot s#it against 3 bad teams. Some people can't accept that Heupel is wrong here. Actually, Joe has never looked like a good qb in his time here except against Clemson.

Yes, the whole team looked bad, but even as bad as it was, we could have still won with a competent qb and a coaching staff that trusted their qb to open the playbook.

Heupel is forcing this one for sure.

Based on reports from the day Milton got here, he’s been very good in practice. Adding in the fact that he has a generational arm, it’s not hard to imagine a coach wanting to try and make a great player out of that. If the light never comes on, I trust Heup to make the change when he sees fit. Comparing him to Butch and Pruitt is so incredibly disrespectful to the man who took over the worst situation imaginable and gave us one of the most memorable seasons ever in his second year. Show some damn respect
Common sense… brah thank you

A coach that played quarterback I think they would know what of a chance he has this year with one of the QB’s he has on roster.. I just don’t understand VN logic most times..

What Heupel does as this year goes on will define his long term success here (or lack thereof). The season is pretty much over from a "compete for the east" standpoint. We ain't running the table with either Nico or Joe. But at some point he's gonna have to shift his focus to getting Nico ready for next year. Banks and Martinez both have to go at years end. How he manages those situations will have a lasting impact on how long he lasts here. He has a championship caliber offense if he has the right QB running it. Defense has been okay at times and terrible at others, specifically the secondary. All these things have to get fixed and fixed quickly moving forward.

I think we lost too much at too many critical positions from last season, especially along the line of scrimmage. They did go to the portal but that’s hit or miss. We need several top recruiting classes in a row to build some quality depth. It is what it is, I just wish they looked better and more prepared than they do 3 games in.

I think a lot of people are not understanding how big of a deal it is that Cooper Mays is out right now. He’s one of 2 guys that has to touch the ball every play. It’s obvious Joe has his limits, and I think having your veteran center out is a huge loss in every possible way. I’ve had discussions/arguments with some on here that suggest it’s just next man up. It’s not that simple. There’s a reason these guys are second and third team. The good news is that there is still a lot of football to be played and we don’t play on the road for a month .

Too early to turn on Heupel to be frank.

I still think Heupel is better than those other coaches. We will see though.

I do think our defensive staff needs to be looked at and consider changes.

Yeah. They need quality depth in a big way too. There's always a drop-off but it's pretty glaring at certain positions. I think part of what made last year go so well was we didn't have any catastrophic injuries at positions of need minus Hendon at the end of the season. And even when Hendon went down, Joe was serviceable due to good O-line play. Cooper going down was a big, big loss unfortunately. Hope he's able to get back out there for South Carolina. One of many concerns I have is, after Cooper leaves, who is the center for next season? I guess it's Ollie and we have to hope he improves? Or they go to the portal again?

UTSA could be a tough game based on our first three. They are better than UVA and AP. AP game wasn’t a fluke, neither was tonight. This team is not playing good football. Sadly, i think it is more likely this team falls apart than pulls it together.
Agree....If the offense that I've seen the past 2 weeks shows up this week we could be in for a dogfight. We opened as a 13 point favorite at home. If our offense is high powered it should be more than 13.
