Butch told the coach "he's done."

Well, there you have it folks.

I hope you all enjoyed Butch's recruiting success, because NEOCON has confirmed, with unassailable evidence, that Jones is out there pissing off high school coaches to a degree that Dooley could have only dreamed of.

actually the coach didn't seem to mind....as the story goes....due to rb depth etc.

Butch pulled Lovingood from same school....they may be looking at a bigger picture.

I don't claim to be an insider by any means but my nephew plays for beach, and I know that he was physically able to play his senior season but for whatever reason he chose not to. I've spoken with my nephew and some of his teammates and most are pretty sore at Jalen. They feel like he didn't do them right by choosing not to play.

For those who are concerned about Hurd's shoulder or have issues with him shutting his Senior season down I have a little info that I would like to pass along...

1)The shoulder was not as bad as people made it seem. It needed work but it was not the reason he shut his season down

2)He shut his season down because Butch Jones personally called his HS coach and told him "he's done for the season and will not be taking any other snaps. Please do not ask him to play as he will not be."

This info comes from someone as about as close to Hurd as you can get.

The funny thing of this story, and the reason I am relaying it, is because the guy who told me while he stood next to me said it with such inflection that it was almost like "Butch is the man."

I personally think Hurd is going to shock a lot of people his freshman year and be a much bigger impact than some are even thinking.

I was told this by three people now...one of whom is as close as you can get to Jalen. I'm sorry....I will go with what they said over you....no offense.

The amount of stupid on this board is very perplexing at times.

The only person close enough to Jalen to tell anyone something like that is his mother, stepfather or grandparents. I can assure you that neither of them told anyone that Butch Jones told Jalen to stop playing high school football. That is extremely unprofessional, and you would never hear anyone in his position say something like that.

Whatever you think you know, you don't. I CAN assure you of that.

This is the very reason that Jalen Hurd told Beech to go f*** itself. I'm sorry but how far does a child's arm have to be pulled apart from his body before it's acceptable not to play football? He played 7 games injured as a junior and went through total hell and agony for his team, school and community. As soon as he decides to not go through that same crap again his senior year, those same d*** riders turned their backs on him - coaches included.

If you know anything about Beech football, you know that Jalen Hurd was Beech's offense. So, it's ok for one child (who everyone knew was getting the ball almost every single play) get beat on and trampled by a stacked box of defenders to continue playing when he had a dislocated arm and torn labrum?

And you're supposed to be an adult.....

I've been going through a lot of shoulder pain lately and even a pinched nerve hurts like hell. It's like the pain of a major toothache but all the way down your upper arm. Hard to concentrate on anything. So, if I were in his shoes, having experienced all that pain until it healed, I'd sit out the rest of the season, too, just to make SURE it healed 100%.

I would think this is sarcasm except I went to UT and played intramural sports with your lame ass parents and I know this is exactly how you think.

I'm ashamed.......

Had a good laugh Op. I'm assuming you're joking... Because if not you're an idiot. Like Jones would call a hs coach and tell him what to do with his star player. And like he'd be inclined to listen. Such a dumb story on so many levels

Same here. He may have discussed it with his coach but I'm sure he would be careful as to how he approaches things. Do not want to alienate a HS Coach and pull a Dooley. :)

Not one in state where a 5* RB is for sure. What was CBJ gonna say, "do not play him or uhhhh, we'll stop recruiting him."
Poor kid would have never found a scholarship anywhere else I bet. Lol.

The guy who's nephew played for beech is correct. Many players were sore with him.

Thought you moved over sea, Neo.

Your name does not ring as bell and normally I am good with names on here.

You must be an alter or changed your name....though it says 2008.

Anyways, I never moved over seas permanently.

that is the short version.

If that's really the case that's awful for him. God forbid a teenager with an NFL future make an intelligent decision to protect himself. Some people's damn kids.... and coaches.
