Buttigieg wants to tax how much you drive

I don’t particularly enjoy my job anymore with all of the dumbassery they expect me to entertain due to my seniority and pay grade. The work is fine, the background noise level has risen precipitously. I’m no longer allowed to call dumbasses dumbasses. That’s just wrong. But... they pay me a lot of money so....

There’s a reason it’s called a job. I’d submit a side gig handling small business web hosting/scripting is solid cash in your pocket and can be done literally from anywhere.

That's where we differ. I have spent the past 12 years thoroughly enjoying my job and have no desire to change that if I don't have to.

I am guessing he likes this idea because he generally likes the idea of govt taking more money and also punishing productive people. It isnt coming from the idea that he wants to make transportation better or the government's management of it more efficient.

Going to be a fun 4 years.

So I’ve been doing this 35 years. When life was simpler it was awesome. It’s just an issue with big time corporate America which I have to deal with in my field. The senior people get propositioned on the virtue signaling agenda from corporate. Was just bitching about it yesterday to my mentor. The work is very satisfying and great. But like I said the background noise has risen. It’s all a cost/benefit. The pay has also risen at least as well 🤷‍♂️

And to funnel more people from the burbs to the city.

Sure but there's nothing creative or ironic about this one. It's literally making fun of someone for being gay and nothing else. Lol.
Being made fun of for being gay shouldn’t be off limits any more than any other reason that people are made fun of......I do find it ironic that liberals(not you) seem really offended by that stuff but managed to get it trending on twitter making fun of Lindsey Graham’s sexuality by calling him Lady G.

See I don’t agree. When I see him I don’t even think about his lifestyle. That’s just who he is. Gaffs like bootyjug are the obvious play on his name. Not saying you’re wrong across the board. But you’re not right across the board either.

Not all of us old grumpy southern white guys just see race, gender, or sexual persuasion 🤷‍♂️

I've always told myself that if I make enough to put back 20k/year in savings that I don't need much else. I've usually hit as much as twice that until this past year. Unless I end up learning of some bastards, get married, or -- God forbid it-- actually decide to make children like a dumb ass, I might start chasing more pay, but I get everything I want with what I make. I will gladly rest on the laurels of upper middle class as long as it's just my haggard world trekking ass I need to support.

It isn’t just kids that drain you. Once you find the Mrs Dink I assure you you will need more money even if little Dinks don’t show up. There are expectations like a home, security, etc... that are a drain on the simple wander list lifestyle.

I had a buddy similar to you back in my 20’s. We used to shoot pool together a couple of nights a week. Got married and tried the normal married life. We changed companies and the last I’d heard he had gotten a divorce and was back packing around the world 😂

In addition to the $6,000, I pay:
1,500 in annual tag and wheel tax
$500 in sales tax on 5 sets of tires plus tire disposal tax (fee)
Sales tax on repairs and oil changes plus disposal fee, and sales tax on purchase of car $3,000

Over 15 years, I've paid around $12,000 to government related to my car. And I dont have an annual inspection or emissions test.

$1500 in tag and wheel taxes each year? How many vehicles you sporting?

I've generally only established exclusivity with women who would detest the idea of staying home and not working. I'm currently in cahoots with someone who manages a restaurant and runs a yoga studio right now. She would lose her mind if she wasn't pursuing something for less than 60 hours a week.

Here's to hoping I end up like your friend sans one divorce.

You think you understand women. You’re precious 😂

Here’s to hoping you wind up like my buddy too I’d guess you’re kindred spirits.
