Bye, bye, Rich Rod

I am by no means a Nostradamous, but I believe if Harbaugh(sp) leaves he goes to the NFL. The Carolina Panthers are not only looking for a coach, they also need a quarterback. The Panthers have secured the first pick in the upcoming draft. I think they hire Harbaugh, and get Andrew luck with the pick. JMO.

I don't think harbaugh is interested in the panthers job. probably more likely to go to 49ers or broncos. I say 49ers, probably better pay, stay on the west coast...

He has to go pro. Someone stated in a thread earlier. He can go be a screw up for 3 years and make enough money to where it doesn't matter. Even then college AD's would throw money at him like crazy.

It's the safe choice. Fail in the NFL and colleges will still come calling. UT w/ Kiffin, SC w/ Carroll, Arkansas w/ Petrino, etc.

I would guess Hoke would be the 2nd choice - he has ties there with him coaching there during the good years. Plus he focuses on defense which they are pathetic at right now.

exactly

go to the 49ers and you don't even have to move. if you suck, you are a multi millionare and will have plenty of college coaching options afterwards.

If Harbaugh is as confident as he always seemed, I don't think he would be that concerned about doing badly and missing out on the NFL.

So, what's self-styled expert Bill King saying about his "best boy" Rich Rod now? King also sayed Denard Robinson was the most exciting player, etc....ad nauseum. No wonder his butt got fired from Nashville radio. Pint-sized jerk doesn't know so much after all.

im sure thats what the NFl is looking for: hot college coaches that just want to use their franchise as a testing ground, making their retirement fund and setting them back even further in the league. it makes sense to the fans and the coaches involved but i doubt thats how the NFL teams see it

of course that's not how the nfl sees it... that doesn't mean it can't turn out like that.

i'm sure harbaugh woudl rather be sucessful. the nfl would prefer coaches without other options?

Based on what?

Seriously? Hoke has actually been a head coach and had success, which is more than we can say even for Dooley. Please don't tell me you're buying on Muschamp just because you've heard his name on ESPN the most.

I've been reading tigerdroppings.com and most reports posted on there point to either Brady Hoke or Les Miles. Very interesting....

I really hope it's Les Miles.

We could cherry pick from their recruiting class.

I would love it too. We were in the running for a lot of their recruits. I don't think Les Miles would leave LSU though. If it was up to me, I would rather coach at LSU than Michigan ,but that's just me.

I don't know much about Brady Hoke, except that he did do a complete turnaround at Ball State.

nfl tends to keep recycling "pro" coaches. the last few college coaches to make the jump havent panned out even tho they were all "hot" at the time. pete carroll makes the playoffs yes but that is not a playoff team.
im not saying that they prefer coaches without options but they do tend to stick to their pattern

Would anyone compare getting Hoke to us getting Dooley both not big names that the fans werent really wanting/expecting?
