'19 CA LB Henry To'oto'o (Tennessee Signee)

Nailed it.
I love the "young fan" argument to try to discredit people with realistic expectations. Yeah, we all know competing with Georgia, Bama and Florida is the goal at Tennessee long term. Nobody is going to ever argue that. I don't care if they're 20 years old or 60. You don't look smart for pointing it out. The point is you have to take a look at where we are right now and determine what our realistic incremental goals need to be to get back to where we want to be.

It IS odd, however, that a lot of recruiting sites and folks had Pappoe as a lock to flip and at the last minute they wouldn't let CJP back in their house...don't you think? There was some sort of funny business there, for sure...whether it was money or not, who knows. I'm sure every school offers "benefits" to players but a sudden, drastic change like that warrants some scrutiny. Doesn't look like we were given the opportunity to match.

edit: I also think Pappoe might end up here if/when Gus gets canned in the next year or two.

Someone on here said they knew the whole story but wouldn't share it until after everything is settled...who was that?

Eh, neither of your posts really conflict with each other, despite the chest pounding. He said it will make us competitive with Vandy, et al. It very likely will - that’s incremental. Additionally, the underlying message is that it needs to be better in the future to compete with the SEC elite. Since you acknowledge the goal is to be back in that company, surely you must agree with that sentiment.

How could I miss this....Its been so obvious all along. How could I have been so blind...

Henry To'oto'o has 11 letters & 2 apostrophes.
11 + 2 is 13.
Jeremy Pruitt has coached how many 1st round draft picks? 13.
Those 1st round draft picks include Rashaan Evans of Georgia.
UGA was unfortunately founded in 1785 in Athens.
The real Athens is in Greece.
Greece, home of Alexander the Great.
Greatness is 9 letters.
Henry To'oto'o (11) - Greatness (9) is 2.

"He is committing TO the University of Tennessee!"

I think that's a bit of a stretch, considering that Alexander was not technically born in Greece but rather at his maternal grandmother's homestead in neighboring Poland. He was carried back to Pella by his mother's Sherpas the following week after Roman slaves cleared the roads that were damaged in the Great Tiber Flood, so Pella's still considered his home town. It's a common misconception though, and in fact it's erroneously cited as his birthplace on the cornerstone inscription of the Macedon Tower in Pella, currently the tallest building in modern day Greece (yes, spires count!).

Understandable mistake, but if you're going to cite historical facts in your calcs, at least get your history straight.

You are an incredible, awe-inspiring & untenable virgin.

Well, it does throw off the math. Rerunning the numbers, it appears that HT is going to commit to Julliard on a spoken word scholarship.

He was born in Pella aka the Capital of Macedon aka Greece. Although I should rerun those numbers because apparently I forgot Evans played for Bama not Georgia lol. Please enjoy my screenshot with fantastic handwriting from the glorious source of Wikipedia.

the last two people he followed are Jeremy Pruitt and Nieds, and it has been that way for about a week at least. Don't think we have much of a shot here, but I thought I would give myself and others a small glimmer of hope in order to set us up for disappointment

the last person he followed was Taulia. the phone app shows follows based on mutual follows, the browser site shows them chronologically.

Well, if you're going to take the word of Wikipedia for it, fine. I stand by my facts.

You do know most valid Wikipedia resources/pages use direct sources right? Its not just some guy on Vol Nation citing incorrect information about where he was born.

But how about the following sources instead?
Encyclopedia Brittanica - Alexander the Great | Biography, Empire, & Facts
The BCC - BBC - History - Alexander the Great
History of Macedonia - Alexander the Great (Alexander of Macedon) Biography

In summary,

L

I got all my facts from the brochure they distribute in the tours of the Macedon Tower in Pella. Pretty sure they wouldn't print all those up if they were incorrect.

Sorry for anyone reading this, uh, no news on To'oto'o lol

If you go to the top of the Macedon Tower you can pretty much see all of Greece. Then you can just pick out all the places to go that look interesting.

My post was mostly just a comment that it's stupid and annoying to try to belittle someone else's perspective by saying they must be a "new fan." Not everyone that was around during our heyday lost their grasp on reality.

My curiosity with this is that there actually was no Poland at the time of Alexander. Did the brochure maybe say Epirius instead? I know his mother was from Epirius, as her father was at one time the king there. Epirius would be located today in northwest Greece and maybe some of southern Albania, as following WWI the Allies redistributed a lot of the Balkan lands that had been under Ottoman control. I had always understood that Alexander was born in Pella, but if the Greeks say he was born elsewhere I would not argue, but Epirius seems more likely to me than what was considered the barbaric lands of northern Europe at the time.
