Wasn’t Martinez committed to Cal earlier in the year? Can’t remember and if so this would be two quarterbacks that we stole from them in a year.

You are correct. And the funniest part of that (at least I think) is that their coach used to be here (Justin Wilcox - DC here in the Dooley days)

Dude has some seriously awesome skills. With the right development, a solid line and some receivers that actually catch the ball, he could be special.

yeah,i don't think he's near a finished product. but a year in the weight room and working with helton and co....

and if we get the O line and osme of the weapons we are looking at....who knows. cautiously optimistic about this kid....if we get him to sign, it's a solid get.

I don't get why you would wait until February if you are committed. Hopefully we flip him and he signs next week.

Absolutely.

And honestly, I don't think any QB we have is a BAD quarterback.

I think they're all EXTREMELY underdeveloped.

I think we could see a turnaround in QD under Helton like what we saw with Crompton under Kiffin.

I 100% believe QD can be a good QB. And I 100% believe Guarantano is a good QB. And I also think that McBride is a good QB.

Just needs development. The offensive line sucked. The offensive scheme sucked. The run game was shut down, and our receivers couldn't catch a cold.

You fix some things and teach some fundamentals again, and I think any of those guys would be great, Shrout included.

edit: also need QD to stick around so Shrout can RS.....that'd be good.
