‘23 CA QB Nicholaus Iamaleava (Tennessee)

If Spyre is handing out $350K with no strings attached, they need to immediately be removed as a source for TN NIL.
I mean, they basically purchased a Call Option on Nico for 350k.

That's peanuts to them and makes it extremely difficult for Nico to go elsewhere because he's forfeiting up to $8mm.

I think it's just fine and the 350k is an immediate incentive to sign on. On the podcast they also said the 350k worked like an advance, where the collective would recoup it in the early days before he makes another dollar. It appears to have worked since he signed, everyone justifiably believes.

But I do believe the 350k is free and clear as far as I've heard.

I think they’re doing great. Spend big win big. There’s a reason casinos fly in big players and comp them. They generate even more business.

Sure, you can't tie it to a school but when you sign an NIL contract and receive $$$, you sign your rights to NIL away, exclusively ( at least that's the way it should be). He can sign and play for any team but he couldn't receive NIL from another organization.
The $8 mil is forfeited…that’s it. Nico’s family had a lawyer involved in this. You try to strong-arm a value with representation? You fall flat. We don’t get to this point with those tactics.

I was seriously asking if you'd read the contract, I haven't.

I assume you have and completely misunderstood it? I’m going off what’s being reported. It’s clear and upfront. Why are you hung up on $350k or somebody else’s money?
It's not someone else's money. If you've contributed to Spyre, it is your money. If they gave $350K to a recruit with no strings attached, I'll never give another dollar. It's absolutely stupid to do that.

You put it into a pot it’s not yours anymore. You ever try to pull a dollar out of one of those collection jars or Salvation Army buckets after you’ve reconsidered?

We disagree on it being “stupid”. I think it’s pretty savvy. It’s “we’re serious” money. It got us a Callahan Crystal Ball. 😎
It's stupid and I don't believe it's true. It will be fun seeing the Calahan crystal ball tossing that tater around in Neyland. 😉

It was reported by I believe AP himself that the 350k is nonrefundable and that its a show of faith and has no obligations to any school. They said that if Nico wanted to work other schools for the 350k he could.

And I understand your sentiment but that 350k could have been "donated" by a "sponser" to get the ball rolling, and have nothing to do with any other money that has been donated from anyone else.

Now you’re being silly. Even if it had arms, why would it be tossing a spud around?

K. We don’t land Nico and I’ll notify Spyre not to count on your $19.51. Going need to return your iron on decal and set of stickers.
Ok, I'm glad you're not running things. We'd be out of NIL money and not sign anybody. And Alabama and GA would be laughing their collective asses off.
