I would have to agree that pedophilia and homosexuality are two unrelated topics and should not be compared. I do however think there could be something to a chemical imbalance or a portion of the brain that works differently in homosexuals as opposed to the general public. I do think there are higher cases of mental disorders psychological disorders in the homosexual community. Is that the reason for their preferences, I do not know.

Bad comparison. 9/11 had many innocent victims. Who is the victim if 2 consenting adults have sex?

Don't follow. We must be talking about two different things. In some places in Africa there is wholesale rape and slaughter going on. I refer to those countries in Africa at peace who still have AIDS outbreaks because of promiscuity. You are correct that rape is a contributing factor as well.

Not comparing them directly. I am saying someone consenting to something does not mean that "something" they consented to has any merit as normal.

Is pedophilia a mental disorder or disease? Answer yes or no.

Why...I have no problem locking dangerous people up until they can be determined to be healthy.

IMO…Mental Disorder... With that said, a child lacks the metal and emotional maturity to consent. A pedophile must therefore control his urges.

Still do not get how this relates to 2 consenting adults.

So you have agreed that there can be mental disorders in regards to how an adult processes sexual thinking.

Then we leave it up to judges to determine when someone is "cured". The track record with sex offenders and pedophiles is not good.

I am not aware of a cure...so if it is a disease or mental disorder...they need to be secured and/or monitored.

Where did I say I did. I agreed with MG's opinion long ago. This discussion pertains to whether homosexuality is a disease or disorder. That has zero to do with how I view homosexuality on a personal level.

I don't care what they do... that's not what this is about.


I couldn't go and read every single post, so I'll try to sum this up as much as I can. The issue here is what is marriage, and how was it started. It wasn't started by a couple of cavemen somewhere, or by some ancient society like the Greeks... it's an institution started by God. There is no arguing that fact, the government recognizes that. Now if you have a problem with the government recognizing God, that's a whole new issue (plus what do we do with the Pledge, money etc).

It was voted on and struck down, and now the state Supreme Court has legislated from the bench (what a shock). It's not denying a certain group of people their rights to be against this, it's protecting it for what was intended. It seems to me that this issuesis really about someting else, it's people's problem with religion and Christianity in particular.

It is very unlike the greater media to make this seem like such an enormous issue. Moreover, the crowd milling about at the courthouse would very likely be the most interested of everyone in the world.

Hell, they've done a great job of making abortion seem to be a very relevant issue to the population. It isn't.
