You are correct. It means the producers can sell at a lower price to the consumer and still make a profit.

This is also the reason that "American Labor" continues to pump money into anti-immigration movements. Would you rather have Union labor producing everything in America or a workforce that will work for hardly anything, and not complain?

Realistic meaning? I know what you meant. You meant that they work for less than americans do which makes it more realistic. Ok I see your point. Since the U.S workers work for to much money we should give all of our jobs to India, China, Japan, and maybe Chad.

i see how chiquita is benefiting. i dont' see how i'm benefiting. you have immigrants living 10 people to a room. using our education, emergency rooms, and it's costing us billions. i'd gladly pay an extra $40 a month for groceries.

You have it backwards.

Real: they are paying taxes; money they earned is being kept from them and is being given to the government.

Nominal: "they" are not paying taxes; money earned in someone else's name, but by them, is going to the government.

Yes; and, this is exactly what is happening. You want to end illegal immigration and outsourcing? Advocate for the elimination of the minimum wage.

Yes, that's what I meant - lets export all jobs. I'm saying they aren't entitled - so they get the jobs.

The "they terrrk err jerbs!" isn't going to work until we are willing to do the work for the compensation it deserves.

even if they paid taxes at teh maximum tax rate they wouldn't get anywhere close to paying for what they cost. this is a ridiculous argument. all you need is one kid in public school and they aren't paying for themselves. let alone all teh other services we pay for. and also don't forget all the welfare and child support for the anchor babbies.

Take an economics class. Wage competition leads to an advantage in price competition: this means one can sell at a lower price than competitors and still make a profit. This is why "American industry" has gone overseas.

not really as I would say money obtained through illegal means is not truly earned. And money "earned" on my SS# is absolutely my responsibility at the end of the year isn't it?

According to your logic (which, I know you will deny and weasel your way into something else), anyone who does not pay at or above the maximum tax rate should not have access to schools.

Your argument is completely flawed, Droski. Oh, and way to marry an anchor-wife.

Only if you file a W-2 that has work on it that you did not do. You receive a W-2 from your place of work and you file that. Unless someone was dumb enough to file a W-2 received from IBP in Kansas when they work and live in New Jersey, would this situation come to fruition.

The Federal Government and Unions. Most do not work for less than minimum wage anymore; however, most all Union contracts are tied to percentages above minimum wage.

The bar that illegals are working at is much closer to the bar set by the market and wage competition.

It is not minimum wage that has every job going to other countries. If you believe that you are very mistaken.

examples

1. Safety precautions in the U.S
2. Disposal of Hazardous waste. (big deal)
3. taxes on big corporations (my oppinion)
4. Regulations companies must follow set by the government.

not sure I get that. If money is earned under my name and SS# and then reported to the gov't they won't care when I file if it is ignored?

my wife was born in reseda california and is white. not sure your point.

I would guess it would be what americans feel they should get paid for that job.(before they would quit/look for another) A standard rate that is what most companies use for most jobs. Which gives other companies and employees something to go off of when looking for a job.
