Huge? In some ways, maybe. Our last big one like this doomed us.
I'm not into the emotional end of it. In the end, that will hurt us. I want us to win big games like it's something we expect to do.After the recent events it was huge and you know it. There's a reason the coaches were so emotional at the end.
Don't downplay a big win because 2 years ago the team "only" made it to the Sweet 16 after the Memphis win. That team went 28-3 in the regular season, that is a heckuva year.
I'm curious. Why are you on today of all days bashing Pearl's postseason record? Again, 24 hours after the biggest win in school history and the best thing you can think about posting is bashing Pearl's postseason record?

We had a great regular season which led to Pearl's greatest achievement - SEC regular season title. Aside from that, we have jack to show for it.
I'm on here talking about Pearl's postseason record because 25 guys decided to start threads calling out anybody who doesn't think that Pearl's an elite coach, as though one January game can suddenly provide proof either way. I didn't jump off the bus after the USC game, and while yesterday was an insanely great win, I have enough perspective to know that it's still just a win in January.
I would have been happy to talk about what a fantastic win it was, but by the time I checked in to the board, the only threads that were active were the ones in which the Pearl As Godlike Coach guys were pumping their chests and talking about how stupid and wrong everybody else is.
Solid point. BP today- "this win means nothing if this team doesn't build off of this and have season success"- obv paraphrased
This happens with everything. I've been on both sides, and posted both ways. I heard something on Ftake this morning that is worth repeating. (The subject was the arizona. Cards Offense calling out the D for the performance)
Those guys on that offense have at some point in their careers been on a team where the D unit produced and the roles were flipped, thus veterans know not to call out their opposite unit. We all (including myself) should take this lesson to heart and get over ourselves.

The style of play comment is just dead wrong. Few here care.
I don't know why it's Now a proxy for detesting some of the coaching on display, but it clearly has something to do wit the limited basketball wits about those in love with Pearl. A few if them know basketball and just believe in regular season wins as a measure of greatness. Most need a reason that those griping just don't get it so they feel better about splitting with Vandy and beating SCe twice.I don't know why we keep hearing this. I don't think anybody on this board cares about the style we run, do they? All we ask is that the team look like it has a plan when they find themselves in a halfcourt situation and the threes aren't falling. I don't particularly want us to start playing grind it out basketball all the time, but I want us to be able to at least do it occasionally, because teams that can't don't win several games in a row in the tournament.
Just Win Baby! i totally agree on the grinding comment and felt the players for while had little to do with TEAM. I saw a TEAM out there yesterday for maybe the first time in two years,,, maybe some who weren't playing were the me guys who need to get a better perspective.
