Calm Down: This is a Very Good Team

With the exception of Bama who is good enough to beat the Vols...we have a 2 year win streak versus UGA...have only lost once in 20 some years to UK...usually beat SC...Mizzou is terrible...Vandy will be a revenge game...and LSU is getting crushed by MSU tonight...we are in good shape.
Bama's 3rd string could beat us with the play calling I saw tonight. The kids made it close.

Pretty much owned Florida in the Swamp but for some fixable mistakes.

More offensive yards and 1st downs than Michigan got.
Hoke's DLine much improved.
Kelly a beast.
QD very good with time to throw.
Strength and conditioning impressive -- UF was worn out.

I like 10-3.

PS. Stop talking about firing people (unless they throw on 1st and goal from the 1 again #petecarroll).

agree....very good team. nice that we finally have SEC talent again

We couldn't beat a bad Florida team with their best WR suspended

But....this was supposed to be a rebuilding year, and this team talent and even execution wise has exceeded my expectations. I think that's all the OP is saying.

Puzzling hesitation to run the ball in the red zone cost us this game, for sure. I'm just going to hope the staff learns from it and improves.

I think a lot of people are giving up on Jones already. There are still 9 games to go.

While some will realize this is true - those who are always ready to pounce will pounce.

But we will have to put up with this until we beat UGA in two weeks then folks will calm down.

Today's loss was just a re-run of last year's UGA game with 10 seconds less on the clock.

Butch has a pattern. It's not a good one.

And you don't understand college football history.

Nobody though of the Gators till Spurrier became the HC. And he's long gone.

And that was almost 30 years ago; if you want to brag about what happened before all that, then go have fun with Army fans.

Another one of these games and this will be well served to exhibit the state of the current recruiting class. I can assure you the waffling has already begun.

It's year 5 man.

1st and goal on the 1. We threw it 3 times...No, I absolutely hate that. No explanation makes that okay.

Unless QD learns to look off receivers, GOOD secondaries are gonna have a field day running into the EZ.

So every 5 years or so a team has to rebuild? Regardless of what Butch does the rest of the season, Butch should be squarely on the hot seat.

lulz

A "pretty bad team" that just put up 442 yds vs a UF defense in the Swamp and lost on a few mistakes, missed kicks, and a Hail Mary?

UT should have won. They didn't. They outplayed UF pretty badly on both sides of the ball. They outplayed UF MORE so than Michigan did.

You can't kill drives with INT's, missed assignments, dropped passes, penalties...

Exactly this. 121 is an almost good team, did many things well in the Swamp, but made tooooooo many mistakes. I'm not writing off the rest of the season, at all, and I think those doing that are being foolish. Will the sloppy play tighten up? I think coach needs to run the entire team, telling them to think of the mistakes they made, and run them until they cannot run any more. Then run them some more. Then more and then more. Call it "the mistakes run." 121 can be good team, but they have to stop making so many mistakes.

If Butch tries to run this team for the mistakes they made he will have lost all credibility with this team. The mistakes the coaching staff made were blatant and obvious.

College football is about constantly rebuilding. Early in the season all teams have execution issues. The more new players you have the greater the execution issues. If you expected a well oiled machine in game 3 you made a mistake. We are a good team and will be playing well very soon.

All the experts told you to expect this yet we want to fire Butch for it. No coach would have done any better. These growing pains are just unavoidable.

I think we have the talent, supporting staff, and everything needed to be a good team. We outplayed Florida hands down. Butch makes this seem significantly harder than it actually is. One the 1 yard line, you run the ball. On third and 1, you run the ball. With 9 seconds left in a tied game, you play prevent. Score to go up 12 points, you go for two. Literally if you played and beat the highest difficulty on NCAA Football games, then you are just as qualified to be the game day coach for this team.

So we just ignore the patterns of bad decision making because the eperts says we will have a mediocre season? See the problem is that we are in year 5 not year 3 and its time for CBJ to produce more than some BS clichés and excuses. We aren't losing cause young player are having growing pains we are losing cause a bad coach can't play call in the redzone at this point in his career
