They should most certainly have opinions however each and every one of us can simply change the channel, tune out that person, or purchase a different product. Charles Barkley is one of my all-time favorite athletes. His opinions along with straightforward statements set him apart from the rest.

They can have them.
Expressing them takes the risk of pissing off half the consumers.
You have the right to say stupid ****. I have the right to stop buying you stuff because you say stupid ****. In reality if you’re famous or running a business you should either go into politics or stfu.

No, I think he said they should just STFU. I don't GAS what any company has to say about anything either, STFU and do what you do for money. I don't need a pizza joint or Mickey D's to tell me how to live my life.

Exactly. Barkley knows the risk of running his mouth. He expected people not to like it. And he didn’t bitch and cry about it when people didn’t like it.
If you’re going to run your mouth do be surprised when people turn you off. And for the love of Gawd do blame cancel culture because the people who don’t agree with you no longer want to buy your stuff

Agreed

There is always a risk when expressing opinions especially if you know ahead of time that it will draw the ire of the public and spark outrage. Personally, I welcome opinions even controversial ones whether I agree or not. Who wants to only eat vanilla ice cream their entire life?

Maybe the idiot CEO's that allow their companies to take stupid controversial political stances will stop getting involved in politics! Everyone would be better off. All they do is stoke up discontent by taking a political stance. It's bad business!

And I won't. It's absolutely stupid for a company to take such an unpopular political stance at the expense of it's shareholders and employees. If you were a female athlete, would you purchase Adidas products when they are advocating men competing against them? Adidas is alienating a huge portion of their market. That's what is so stupid. They will lose business. Shareholders will be impacted and employees will lose their jobs. Totally irresponsible.
