I just think looking around the country and trying to find a sitting HC who makes the NCAAT routinely at a P5 is pretty difficult.

Craig Smith of Utah State who has a 225-107 record would be a good pick when the time comes to replace Coach Barnes because of retirement.

Guess I've just learned to settle, but I still remember having no interest on selection Sunday. At least with Barnes, we're gonna make the dance. The thing a lot of posters get wrong is that they expect something from UT once the tournament starts. Therein is the mistake. Just be happy with early season romps and making the dance. Just keep it real. This is UT. It's how we roll.

Wouldn’t be a bad candidate, again though with MM you never know...never won a NCAAT game but also never been favored in one, would be a risk.

Lol.... “would you be ok with Porter Moser?” ... good god OP is clueless. Any basketball fan with any semblance of knowledge would crawl to Chicago to interview that dude. Wouldn’t surprise me if they have a big day tomorrow vs Illinois

There’s disappointment and there is hate. It appears it is rampant because we read message boards and have access to social media. Those in the minority will continue to appear as if they’re the majority, when they aren’t. They’ll go on spilling their negativity about sports, jobs, and whatever they run across. The E.J. Liddell incident is a very sad indictment of how all this negative hate leads to our loss of perspective.

This is what message boards are for and it will probably continue until Rick Barnes decides to retire. If it wasn't this way there wouldn't be a damned thing to really talk about in the dark period before football season.

Kermit Davis and Buzz would be my faves of your list. I would be interested to see how Andy Kennedy's career goes when Barnes is done. If he wins at UAB, he will be back in a big league in no time. With that said, I expect Barnes to be here another 4-5 years. I do hope English leaves and gets the George Mason job, he would be ideal guy to replace Barnes if he wins at GMU.

Kermit & Buzz haven’t done much in the SEC...and we’d probably have to pay Buzz around what we are paying Barnes, so would we expect Top 5 results from him too when he isn’t even currently making the NCAAT?

If any of you think a good/great coach would come here if UT blew Barnes out, you need to be institutionalized.
