Agreed. Carroll was publicly reporting Trump raped her. Trump then publicly reported she lied. Apparently according to the left, the former is ok but the later isn't.

The judge in the first trial affirmed that he sexually assaulted her. Two juries agreed that he defamed her. EVERYBODY'S always wrong
but the gangster, eh? Judges all over the country, juries, grand juries, prosecutors, FBI, Justice Department, GOP state election head, women assaulted by trump,consumers defrauded by trump, all the people who worked in his administration and the White House who hate him and find him totally unfit for public office....and MANY more. Trump's side had opportunity to present qualified expert witnesses in May Trial: They couldn't get them qualified

Trump's side had extra discovery opportunity with the Hoffman stuff in May Trial: They couldn't take advantage of it

Trump's side could have got her prior tweets and allegations into evidence in May Trial: Once again, they missed the deadlines

Trump could have testified in May: He chose not to

No matter how flimsy the other side's case is, when you choose not to present a competent defense, you run the risk of losing a civil trial. That's what happened here.

When you claim he's a victim and he keeps getting convicted or found liable - will your tune ever change? Or is the DOJ, IRS, FBI, CIA, the totality of the government and its establishment including multiple federal judges in multiple States, district judges in multiple States, District Attorneys and the jury's all in cahoots? Or, it it possible your idol is simply an a**hole who's getting his comeuppances? I'm sure all of the rando twitter sources you trot out are privy to the "real" truth - your echo chamber seems to have the market cornered on that.

You trumpers are defending a guy that sexually assaulted a woman and then went out of his way to trash her publicly. It's astonishing to watch you willingly die on that hill of defending a guy that everyone on the planet heard admitting to sexually assaulting women for sport. I'm starting to think that the people who keep defending him are simply projecting their own low moral and ethical character in an attempt to feel better about themselves.

On a side note when the state of NY made the special allowance that allowed Carrol to file this suit had anyone else taken advantage of it? And if so did they win as well.?

There have been other allegations brought agianst other people. Most are either settled or tossed out...

The law is no longer in effect, it allowed a 1 year window then sunsetted. It was specifically passed so that she could file her initial lawsuit.

That's somewhat debatable since it has been a trend nationwide to lengthen SOL for sex crime civil cases. Her case didnt hurt getting it passed but NY isn't a complete outlier here...

Before any of these allegations became public, NY went to from 3 to 20 year SOL for any new civil cases (2019 and later) involving sexual assault.

The 2022 bill enacting the 12 month window was to give a 1 time "civil case bite at the apple" for cases 2018 and earlier. Remember, Weinstein and Epstein cases largely drove this...

Once again, Trump could have presented a defense but chose not to.

But the damages here do not meet those basic conditions. Ergo, it is illogical. Ergo, it is illegal. Ergo, it is a travesty of justice.

The $83MM will either be knocked down or settled at a fraction of the amount. This happens most of the time with excessive jury awards.

Having outrage at this amount (which will be lowered) or the bipartisan law change that allowed this case to happen completely ignores the fact that DJT had the opportunity to hire qualified experts, provide evidence, testify, present a defense and HIS TEAM CHOSE NOT TO in the May 2023 Civil trial.

The two juries (combined) was 13M 5F. That's about as favorable of a gender split as DJT could have reasonably expected (Males more conservative politically and less likely to be swayed emotionally in sexual assault case)....

So when Biden was accused of sexual misconduct before the '20 election, it was quickly dismissed and never spoken of again. But when when Trump is accused 25 years after the fact then it's back to believe all women & Pound (#) me too!
