Casey Anthony - The Decision Is In!

When you can't even prove how the victim died, there is reasonable doubt. Period.

Should have hired this guy

I think this quote pretty much sums up the viewpoint of those saying the right verdict was made:

Jeffrey Toobin said:
"There was never even a theory of when or how or even why Casey Anthony killed her daughter," he said. "There is certainly a lot of evidence that she behaved terribly, that she lied about all sorts of things. But in terms of murder, much less first degree murder – intentional murder - there really was a big gap in the evidence, and I certainly expect that when these jurors come to explain their verdict, the failure to prove a time of death or cause of death will be a major, major factor.

"You can’t fault the prosecution for the absence of evidence. The evidence is what it is. But certainly those are the key facts in this acquittal."

However, and I have followed this zero, I am a bit confused as to how not reporting your kid missing for 31 days isn't abuse/neglect/whatever the charge was. Seems to blow the doors off reasonable doubt to me regarding that charge.

I am in the same boat. I haven't read enough to know why this happened, but I do know that the evidence was shaky at the very best.

This is what happens when the media eludes to guilt or innocence. The opinion of one then becomes the opinion of many, without either knowing what truly happened.

The prosecution badly overplayed their hand. They went into detail that wasn't needed, and failed to deal with the defense's irrelevacies.

Regardless, I hope the jurors lose sleep over this travesty.

all agree that she was already dead at that point, so once she was cleared of all the murder charges the abuse charges were not happening because in fl dead by abuse is either 1st degree murder or felony murder.

Exactly. They might be able to still charge her with failing to report a felony or something along those lines but not abuse or neglect.
