CBJ Monday Presser

All fair points.

Butch has no choice but be accountable, right? The Vandy loss is on his record and future resume. I could probably come up with a couple dozen reasons or excuses but it doesn't really matter? He lost. And like I've said, I'll never excuse losing to Vandy for any reason.

Which coaches are you ready to run off? I have some concerns but I think the staff deserves more than one year.

Would you agree that this team had a 5-6 win ceiling, regardless of who is coaching? I think we've been the more talented team four times this year.

don't expecxt the crazies to agree with you tonight!

I'm a full-fledged sunshine pumper, mostly. But any coach who loses to Vandy earns a demerit on my scoresheet. :)

I know. I was just kidding around. Just found it funny that if anyone but you had posted what you did, the cries of negavol would have been deafening.

I think one of the main keys to this offseason is can CBJ keep his entire coaching staff intact? Gillespie and Thigpen might get offers from other programs.

the reality is, we are tied somewhat by the economic conditions, unless you can donate 20 millions or so, our only option is to support this staff and hope they can achieve what we desire.

Questioning the CEO of UT Football, holding him accountable and demanding something better when he is capable of doing it doesn't equate to the desire to fire him. The two are a spectrum apart.

But when something isn't working as effectively as it should, you look for avenues of improvement. Hoping something happens very seldom leads to the outcomes you desire. JMO.

I understand strategy. It's accountability I'm looking for. CBJ is wizzing on our heads and telling us its raining. He hasn't owned up to anything. Vanderbilt is on him. He never even attempted to own this debacle. That throws up red flags.

Red flags equal time to attack. Should I attack when all actually is well? I think you should be asking why, not offering group hugs to CBJ.

I clearly care about UT. Sometimes it feels like the squeaky wheels are the only ones that do. There are too many people that seem okay with where we are right now. The kicker is that it's the same excuses that were used for Dooley.

But I realize we want the same thing. My fight isn't with you.

come on man!!!!! you know the best strategy is to mislead the opposition! join our team man! :hi:

I really hate the fan classification debates. I'd rather discuss specifics than engage in a back-and-forth sunshine pumper/negavol name-calling fest. But thy as just me.

You know very well that pumping sunshine is the very best strategy at the moment! :salute:

Of course. I thought we had a good shot at going 7-5 if we played lights out or 6-6, if the breaks went against us. Going 6-6 with a bowl win would have been a promising year for this team and set CBJ up nicely for next year. The poor performance and lack of motivation post-Bama has been increasingly concerning, even though Mizzou and Auburn are at a different level. But we should've been more competitive. Vandy-- well, there just isn't any excuse.

I'm not saying we should let anybody go. I just think CBJ should look objectively at areas of opportunity and make strategic upgrades, should they present themselves. For starters, I think we should consider working with an outside QB coach. Other schools do. And we should evaluate special teams. And I think we should take a hard look at our coordinators and see if we can bring anybody in to round out our team or add outside perspective. Working together for a long time has advantages... and it can close you off to better possibilities. All JMO.

do not make it worse by piling on, study PR and propaganda, we are at the bottom, we need all the help we can get, get with the program and support our coaching staff during this first year transition, even if you do not believe in them, get it?

I agree, I was all butch a couple weeks ago, but I honestly feel that if we lose 8 games, that he should be fired on the spot. Hell Dooley never lost 8, and everyone says that he's not half the coach butch is, so if he loses 8, FIRE HIM!!

:mega_shok:

Blindly throwing praise does just as much to impact a program as throwing critisism, none. The all is well approach is no better than the negavols you like to rip. At least the negavols are living in the now and aren't constantly pointing to an imaginary future of sunshine and touchdowns.

I never said "all is well" and I don't think I "blindly threw praises" at anyone. In fact, if you would look at my previous posts you would see the opposite and quit "blindly throwing falsehoods." Never mind, conversing with a person that can't even read or comprehend basic words is no use ... Go ahead and "blind on" negavol!
:hi:

I will be very interested to see how this recruiting class finishes on signing day as well as next years class considering that next year's class will not be anchored by numerous legacies.

Butch has recruited extremely well. It's okay. You can say it. I won't tell anyone. :)

This year's class is most important. Without a successful class this year, he may not make it long enough to see too many players from next year's class develop. That's just the reality of college football in a big-time program.
