CBS Playoff Projections

Bama is still getting a boost from what they did to UGA in the first half of that game. Reality is if both Bama and us end up with 2 losses and there is only one team to be selected, it will be Bama due to the bias.

Same is true of OSU verses Oregon which is why OSU looks to be getting the nod from some even though they beat OSU.

Bama is projected in at 10-2 but Tennessee now must beat Georgia to make it in. How does that make sense?

”I have said all along that Tennessee would have to beat either Alabama or Georgia to earn a CFP berth, but with Texas A&M still in play, the Volunteers may very well have to beat Georgia when they travel to Athens on Nov. 16. We should have a better idea whether that is must-win for the Vols by then.”

The only way we get in for sure is winning out. Some don’t like to admit how bad that arky loss hurt. I think there will be many 10-2 team EOS. The teams with style points will get in. We just don’t have many of those right now.

CBS: Tell me you hate the vols without tell you hate vols. How in the name god do you rationale the gumps staying in the playoffs? They still have to play LSU. LSU will beat the turds by 17.

What chance does the loser of the SEC Championship Game have of making the playoffs?

Depends on how many losses they have. If the loss puts them at 3 losses -no chance. If the loss puts them at 2 losses - they should be the second team selected.

If they both win out OSU and Oregon will settle it on the field..in a domed stadium in the Midwest. Thats not bias. Vegas would probably favor OSU by 3 to 3.5 on a neutral field.

It doesn't make sense, except to Jerry Palm. AL is projected to drop to 16 in the new polls. They are not playing well and this article is all about "clicks" which means $$$$$.
There is more of a reason to push this out there than to be realistic.

Georgia and TX will have 1 loss each and play the SECCG.

Tennessee, LSU, Mizzou, TAMU all finish with 2 losses

Bama finishes with 3 losses.

Mizzou is about to play their by far biggest. opponent of the year and will almost certainly lose to Bama. Their resume is going to suck

LSU is going to lose to TAMU and then turn around and beat Bama. LSU will give us the most competition for a spot in the playoffs if they also beat Bama.

TAMU is going to lose to TX at the very end of the year which will ruin their chance to get in.

Tennessee will lose to Georgia but this is after 2 weeks of winning and then they have 2 more weeks to improve their ranking after that. I think UT is in the best position of all with our 2 losses being on the road and one of them being against the #1 or #2 team in the country.

In that scenario I think we have the most impressive resume of the 2 loss teams and will likely (almost certainly) be ranked higher than all of them because a loss to Georgia will not drop us out of the top 10.

The real question is what happens in the other conferences. Right now the B10 has 4 solid choices. This will determine if a 4th SEC team gets let in.

We DO NOT have to be at UGA to get into the playoffs.
But we're going to!

I agree that they are overrated. But I see them in the playoff if they finish at 10-2.
I don’t know. It depends on what these other teams in the ACC and Big 12 do. Does Mizzou get in at 10-2 if they’re against an 11-1 BYU? What’s going to be interesting is what impact do the conference championship games have? For some it certainly may be better to not make the game. Then the real chaos starts if a 9-3 team wins one of the big 4 championships. Craziness awaits!

The eye test for Alabama is a 3 loss team, nothing more nothing less. They are not a playoff team and can't sell it without Saban.

We should put our hatred aside (temporarily) and pull for Florida the remainder of season.
They can actually be the spoiler in the whole thing, and they looked very good against KY.
Also, fighting for their coaches job can motivate them.

FL plays 4 of who we need them to beat.

They're assuming that both will win out and OSU will win the rematch in the Championship game and get the automatic. Its not a crazy assumption.
Agree 100% on that assessment. Good chance those 2 teams meet again on a natural field (how many duck fans will travel to Indy?). I’d bet on OSU winning that game.

Think TX is not who they thought they were. Turns out Michigan is trash. They were overwhelmed.
Although good, I've always thought that TX would find out that they're not playing in the BIG12 anymore. Welcome to the Big Boy conference. I still say the top 2 teams in the SEC will have 2 losses at the end of the regular season. There's just too many teams that can beat you on any given day/night. It's also looking that winning on the road, for everybody, is a real challenge.

I don't see them winning any of those games.

SC could help us with A&M and Clemson.
