Seriously! That record means NOTHING in that weak "high school" of a conference. Beat Florida, Alabama or Georgia. Oh and Butch, wake me up when you sign a 5 star recruit (or a 4 star).

He beat vandy, He beat strong twice. Records do mean something when you bring Cincy and Central Michigan to winning seasons.

lmao...so sick of hearing dooley beat jones yes it happened...but jones beat charlie strong not once but twice...and everyone was begging for charlie strong just a few days ago...so your point really means nothing move on!!

All came in inferior conferences, WITH INFERIOR PLAYERS! You can't deny the fact that Tennessee players were leaps and bounds ahead of Cincinati at that time. Plus Coach Jones has never had the money, facilities, and fanbase like he is going to have here. I think all the haters will learn to respect the man in a short time.

Entertain this...

A coach starts out 17-6 in the mac, then headed to the mountain west where he went 22-2, then transitioned to the mighty SEC, where clearly he can't win since he was beating up on "high schools", and posts a 65-15 record w/ 2 national titles.

I don't think anyone is yelling that Urban Meyer can't win in the league due to his MAC background.

They never did. Throughout most of our lifetimes here, we had 2 coaches who bled orange and WANTED to be here. Anyone who says top coaches around the country wanted to have this job is merely speculating.

Dooley could not beat anyone where UT had less talent. Cincinnati be Va Tech this year, NC State last year. He beat Mich State with Central Michigan. He may not big a huge step up form Dooley but a least we may beat some teams we should not.

Well....aren't we optimistic??? If/when this WAC/MAC protege goes 65-15 with tennessee and wins 2 national titles...i will humbly admit my error....but until then...please stop being stupid.

How retarded...here is a guy who was highly successful at two separate levels below the one he will now coach..dooley wasnt even mildly successful at a lower level...as for the 0-1 record vs dooley, so what? Spurrier was 1-2 vs dubose. Look up the phrase 'small sample size'

Never did I say that Coach Jones would be the next coming of Urban, I'm simply saying you can't discount someone just because they had success in lower conferences.
